Clippers struggle in key at bats, lose 4-2
Poor execution at the plate and some timely hitting by the Toledo Mud Hens doomed the Columbus Clippers Tuesday night. Columbus lost to the Mud Hens, 4-2, at Fifth Third Field in Toledo. The Clippers had won game one of the series, 4-1, on Monday night.

Clippers pluck Hens, 4-1
After a successful homestand, the Clippers began a four-game roadtrip Monday night, and started it off with a win. Columbus (42-42) defeated the Toledo Mud Hens, 4-1, in game one of a four-game series in Toledo. The Clippers, coming off a six-game set at Huntington Park in which they went 4-2, have now won seven of their past nine games. Monday, Columbus had a three-run sixth inning that separated them from the Mud Hens on way to victory.

Sailing with the Clippers: 6/25/2012 - 7/1/2012
After struggling to put together consistent performances for more than a month, the Columbus Clippers have now recorded two-consecutive winning weeks. Columbus (41-42) went 4-2 over the past seven days, following up a 4-3 week from June 18 to June 24 with an even better one this week at Huntington Park. Andrew Holleran takes you "Sailing with the Clippers" in his weekly notebook...

Mud Hens shellack Columbus 8-1
The Toledo Mud Hens (33-50) may be struggling this season, but not against the Columbus Clippers (41-42). Of the seven games the two teams played before Saturday night, Toledo won five. This pattern did not change on Saturday. It was mostly a night of dominant pitching, but a late Mud Hens explosion ultimately secured an 8-1 win over Columbus.

Clippers pound out 9-4 win over Tides
Like the game itself, the Clippers’ bats took a little while to get started Friday night, but when they did, it resulted in another Columbus victory. The Clippers won for the sixth time in seven tries, defeating the Norfolk Tides, 9-4. Heavy rain and strong winds delayed the game’s start time of 7:05 p.m. by an hour. With the win, Columbus took the four-game series, 3-1, in front of 7,227 fans at Huntington Park.

Minor Happenings: Neal is finally showing his power
In today's week ending edition of Minor Happenings, Tony touches on the power binge that Double-A Akron outfielder Thomas Neal has been on and what that may mean as far as value and a promotion is concerned. In addition to that he provides some recent comments from Ross Atkins on some big league pitching options at Triple-A Columbus, and provides updates on several players at each level from Triple-A Columbus to rookie level Arizona, namely Tim Fedroff, Jeremie Tice, Jesus Aguilar, Rob Nixon, Juan Romero, Jorge Martinez, and more.

Clippers beat the heat and Tides, win 6-3
Battling record-high temperatures and the Norfolk Tides, the Clippers found a way to win for the fifth time in six games Thursday night. Playing in front of 7,488 fans at Huntington Park, and amidst 100-degree temperatures—the hottest day in Columbus in more than a decade—the Clippers beat the Tides, 6-3. Columbus has now won two of its first three games in its four-game series against Norfolk.

Clippers don't get any breaks, lose 3-1
In well-pitched games, it’s often about which team gets the breaks. On Wednesday night, the Columbus Clippers just couldn’t buy one. The Clippers (39-41) fell to the Norfolk Tides (40-41) by a final score of 3-1 Wednesday. While both pitching staffs had stellar performances, the game was also influenced by an error, a ball boy, and a very close call by the umpires.

Healthy Crowe ready for another big league shot
Over the last two years Triple-A Columbus outfielder Trevor Crowe has struggled with injuries, which have made it hard for him to sustain any type of consistent performance. He’s healthy again and is ready to get back to Cleveland and play in the big leagues.

Clippers walk off to 4-3 win in extras
It took extra innings, but the Clippers pulled it out as they defeated the Norfolk Tides 4-3 in eleven innings. The Tides would strike first offensively in the top of the third. After a two out double by Xavier Avery, Nate McLouth sent a fly-ball out towards the right field wall. The ball sailed over Russ Canzler's head, allowing Avery to score rather easily as Norfolk staked itself to an early 1-0 lead.

Clippers continue good play, win 7-3
It’s only been three games, but the on-field product the Columbus Clippers have displayed during their most recent winning streak could be a cause for concern for the rest of the International League. The Clippers won for the third-straight time Monday night, beating the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 7-3, to take the four-game series, 3-to-1.

McFarland brings out the McNasty against the IronPigs
The Clippers did not have a spectacular performance at the plate Sunday night, but they won anyway, thanks largely in part to a superb outing from T.J McFarland. The 23-year-old right-hander threw a complete-game shutout, propelling Columbus (37-40) to a 4-0 win against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in front of 8,505 fans at Huntington Park.
