With the minor league season coming up on the completion of its second week (already?) there are a lot of players not assigned to a full season affiliate at the moment that are either nursing injuries, rehabbing, or waiting around for an opportunity. In this re-post of a piece from last year, Tony provides all the details on what extended spring training is and what the players there can expect.

Friday's outing by Ubaldo Jimenez was nothing if not unusual. If not for three solo homers that he allowed, he pitched well. The lineup was loaded with minor leaguers filling in so regulars could be well rested and not risk injury before the start of the season. Saturday is the final day of spring training before the Indians break camp and get this party started for real!
Only two days remain before another minor league spring training breaks on Saturday afternoon. The full stats from all four minor league games on Thursday are included....

Roberto Perez was the star of the show in the AAA/AA game, belting a pair of home runs, while driving in three. The great Delvi Cid also managed a perfect three-hit performance. With many pondering the term bust already, Howard needs to show some continuity this year to regain traction in the system. Join Arthur Kinney with Sunday's minor league wrap.
