Rising prospect Aguilar is enjoying the game
Baseball season can seem long and tedious at times, especially for someone who has played nearly every day, but for Akron Aeros’ first baseman Jesus Aguilar, it’s all about enjoying the opportunities. Aguilar finished off another good developmental year with the Indians and now gets to have fun with his Akron teammates in the Eastern League playoffs.

Valerio keeps working to master the art of catching
Short season Single-A Mahoning Valley catcher/first baseman Charlie Valerio has had a breakout season as a prospect this year. He's proven to be a good performer and as a switch-hitter he offers up something unique as a prospect in the Indians' system. He is still learning all the nuances that go into catching, and he shares how that is going and more in Stephanie Metzger's latest.

Haley is ready to take off with the Aeros
Double-A Akron right-handed pitcher Trey Haley looks to have finally overcome a groin injury that had been bothering him for over a year thanks to a sports hernia surgery completed earlier this year. With that nagging injury now in the past, with his blazing fastball and promising secondary offerings, he looks poised to take off with his performance. Stephanie Metzger recently sat down with him to discuss how things are going.

Lee's striking pro debut makes him an All Star
The NY-Penn League All Star game gets underway tomorrow night right in our very own backyard at Mahoning Valley. Five Scrappers will get to enjoy the hometown festivities, and one of those is right-hander Jacob Lee who is off to a very good pro start putting up some very good numbers. Lowery wants to finish strong
Low-A Lake County catcher Jake Lowery's season to date has not gone as he hoped it would at the outset. After starting the season at High-A Carolina, he ran into some struggles and was reassigned to Lake County in July. With just a few weeks left in the season he wants to finish strong and give himself something to build on for next year. Stephanie Metzger recently sat down with him to discuss how things are going.

Morimando a model of consistency for Captains
Low-A Lake County lefty Shawn Morimando has remained a model of consistency in the ever-shifting Lake County starting rotation this season. The pitching staff has seen various players converted from relievers, sent to the bullpen, called up, or sent down, but Morimando has been one Captain to answer the bell every fifth day for manager Dave Wallace. Mike Zavagno recently sat down with Morimando to discuss his season to date.

A look back at Baseball America's 2009 Top 100 list
With the recent acquisition of Lars Anderson from the Red Sox, the Indians have stockpiled an amazing nine players from Baseball America's 2009 Top 100 prospect listing. But not all nine of those players have panned out and it just goes to show that prospects, even the highly touted ones, are simply just lottery tickets. Jeff Ellis breaks down all nine players in his latest.

MacPhee is small in stature, but hopes for big things
The Indians organization prides itself on building around guys who bring a winning attitude to the ballpark each day. In the 13th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft, the Tribe found itself another one of those players in the form of Arizona State second baseman/outfielder Zach MacPhee. Working through a position change and inconsistent playing time, he has had an interesting season to date, and Mike Zavagno recently sat down with him to discuss it all.

Allen's rapid ascent a surprise even to himself
The rise to the big leagues is a tough, tumultuous trail at times, but Cleveland Indians’ relief pitcher Cody Allen was fortunate enough to fast-forward the process. Cody Allen started the 2012 season at High-A Carolina then breezed through Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus before getting his first ever big league call on July 20th. Stephanie Metzger recently sat down with the talented righty to try and bring into focus what has been a crazy, exciting year for him.

As good as it gets: Seddon is on a roll
Chris Seddon has been a force on the mound for the Columbus Clippers over the past two months, and is looking like he could be a big league option at some point this season. With rosters set to expand in about five weeks, Seddon's versatile left-handed arm could put him in the mix for a callup to the big league team in September if he finishes the season strong.
