While Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc on the East Coast on Monday (we at IPI hope everyone is safe and sound!), things went on as usual in the Arizona Fall League and Dominican Winter League. Tyler Holt continued his solid play of late, and a former Indians prospect that was part of a big trade some time ago was also in action.

It was a quiet night for Indians players in the fall and winter leagues Friday. Tyler Holt continued his recent strong showing the AFL, and Alex Monsalve put together his best performance so far in the league. The World Series kicked off last night, but there were other games going on involving professional baseball players out in Arizona, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela. Jesus Aguilar's struggles continued last night, Alex Monsalve is still adjusting to more advanced pitching, Matt Packer is on the mend, and old friend Vidal Nuno continues to impress in winter ball. It was a quiet night on the Indians' front with players in action last night thanks to off nights in the Dominican Winter League and Venezuela Winter League. But, the Arizona Fall League was back in action after a day off on Sunday and Tyler Holt and Shawn Armstrong continued their good showing.

It's hard to believe but numerous winter leagues have already been in action for over a full week now. The Indians have a handful of players competing in the different leagues, so there's certainly plenty of reasons for fans to pay close attention. Several Indians were in action on Monday in fall and winter ball out in Arizona and Venezuela. Ronny Rodriguez and Alex Monsalve continue to adjust to the much higher caliber competition than they are used to while Eric Berger shined in his offseason league debut and Jesus Aguilar continues to struggle out of the gates.

While the Major League Baseball postseason is in full swing, the offseason baseball leagues are also a week into their season's. The Indians continue to put up some good showings in the Arizona Fall League, Dominican Winter League and Venezuela Winter League this offseason, and yesterday Tyler Holt and Trey Haley both continued that trend with good showings.

The Arizona Fall League is starting up today and eight Indians minor leaguers will be participating this year. These players may not all be top prospects in the organization, but they are highly thought of by the organization.
