The 2012 Draft signing deadline is two weeks away from today on July 13th....that is Friday the 13th for the superstitious folks out there. Will Friday the 13th bring bad or good luck to the Indians with more signings? We will see, but in the meantime Tony has several more signing updates on players and where they stand in the negotiation process with firsthand updates on Nelson Rodriguez, Joshua Pigg, Joshua Lester, and Anthony Hawkins. One of those players has already agreed to sign.

The signing deadline is two weeks from tomorrow, and right now we are in sort of a dead period with the signings as most of the early signs are in the books and now teams and players are just kind of holding out in the negotiations until the deadline gets closer. The July 13th signing deadline for players picked in the 2012 Draft is fast approaching as it is two and a half weeks away. The Indians have already signed 18 of their 40 draft picks, but more are coming. In today's update Tony gives the details on where things are at with 8th round pick Caleb Hamrick and 26th round pick Justin Garza, two high profile pitchers in their 2012 draft class. He talked to Hamrick last night and a representative of Garza over the weekend and shares some interesting details on their signing status...

The Indians still have several unsigned 2012 Draft picks, and while the bulk of them have already signed, there are still probably five to seven players that will still sign before the July 13th deadline. Tony gives a quick update on what the Indians can do with top picks McClure and Hamrick as well as news on one player that signed today and two others that are expected to soon officially sign on the dotted line.

On Friday afternoon the Cleveland Indians announced that they have signed first round pick outfielder Tyler Naquin and second round pick right-handed pitcher Mitchell Brown to minor league contracts.

The Indians continue to be busy on the post-draft front as they have agreed to terms with two more players, one of which signed his contract yesterday and another that is expected to sign his today. Tony provides updates on those two players and also a few other players from the draft.

On Tuesday the Indians officially released that they inked nine players from their 2012 Draft. He has information from at least five other players that they will soon sign (or may have already signed), and he also updates an error reported from another news outlet on a player that is still very much in the mix for the Indians to sign.

Right-handed pitcher Jacob Lee, the Indians 9th round pick in this year's draft, is one of the newest members of their farm system. The draft was an emotional high for him, especially after such a big low last season when he was not drafted. Tony talked to Lee a couple of days ago and welcomes him to the Indians' family.
