Around the Farm: August 28, 2012
With the minor league season rapidly drawing to a close, many players are attempting to close out the season on a high note. One such player would be Jesus Aguilar, whose performances continue to improve since being promoted to Double-A. Plus, Brett Brach has really been stellar as of late, and that remained the case on Tuesday. But could be possibly eventually be a Major League option? And what about this Dorssys Paulino character? Is he finally started to get a handle since his promotion to Mahoning Valley? All this and more as IPI's Steve Orbanek takes you Around the Farm.

Around the Farm: August 27, 2012
It was a slow night as we break into the final regular season week in the minors. Carolina and the AZL Indians were off, while Mahoning Valley was postponed. Akron provided a double-header to take up a bit of the slack though. Last night showcased two ATF all-stars in 2012. The first is a starter in Akron, who is rebounding from injury. The second is a middle-infielder in Lake County, who can't seem to stop hitting. Find out who, after the jump...

Around the Farm: August 26, 2012
Russ Canzler continues to put together solid seasons, but has yet to see it come to fruition with a long-term stint in the big leagues. T.J. McFarland had another solid outing for the Clippers, but continues to sandwich them with bad ones. Tony Wolters had another three-hit performance in Carolina. Who else made Sunday's Around the Farm? Find out, after the jump...

Around the Farm: August 25, 2012
Dorssys Paulino rolled out his first really big game at short-season Mahoning Valley, but was overwhelmed by Mudcats, who dominated ATF on Saturday night with a variety of show-stoppers. Which topped the list: a seven-inning, seven K gem, a two-homer game, or a guy who managed to play every position on the diamond? Join Jim Pete as he "Tooles" Around the Farm...after the jump...

For as outstanding as Jordan Smith has been this season for the Captains, there has really only been one criticism: power or lack thereof. However, on Friday, the left-handed hitting Smith put together a "powerful" performance. Plus, Jacob Lee continues to impress for the Scrappers, and Jesus Aguilar hits his second bomb in three games. All this and more as IPI's Steve Orbanek takes you Around the Farm.

Around The Farm: August 23, 2012
Luckily for Indians fans, they were given a break from the heartbreak and pain of Cleveland baseball for one night. The action did not stop in the minors, however, as one of the Carolina middle infielders went deep, a Mahoning Valley pitcher continued his torrid season, and a recent draft pick had his way with the Arizona League. Welcome back Jim Piascik from his recent wedding and honeymoon as he takes you Around The Farm with all the action from last night's minor league games.

Ronny Rodriguez belted home run #18 last night, and is clearly a candidate to visit Akron for the playoffs. Jake Sisco was outstanding for a second straight start in Mahoning, but couldn't overcome the paltry offense. The top of ATF on Wednesday has another starter on the peak, who may just be having the best season of any starter in the system. Find out who that is...after the jump...

Around the Farm: August 21, 2012
Ronny Rodriguez continues to play above his head at High-A Carolina. On Tuesday night, the 20-year-old infielder launched his 17th home run of the 2012 campaign. Plus, Tim Fedroff finally starts to get out of his recent funk by putting together a solid two-hit performance with the Clippers. Jesus Aguilar also seems to be starting to pick up steam with the Aeros, and Hector Rondon makes his return to the mound for the first time in almost a year. All this and more as IPI's Steve Orbanek takes you Around the Farm after the jump.

The Carolina Mudcats were rained out, giving the system a short set of games. T.J. House saw a few of the cards tumble, as he got blitzed in only one inning of work. The Akron bullpen pitched well though, led by Preston Guilmet and Bryce Stowell. Columbus led the way on the night though, as David Huff pitched like a major leaguer, and his offense dominated once again. An intriguing shortstop prospect led the way for ATF? Who? Find out after the jump...

Every once in awhile, there's a night that really has leveled off numbers, and that's what Sunday night was for ATF. Sure, there was the Lake County Captains, that are clicking on all cylinders right now, but passed that, the system is just playing well. Lee, Sever, Wendle, LRod, Myles, Sabourin, Ramirez, Aguilar, Chen and Neal are a few that make an appearance. Who's at the top? Find out...after the jump...

Around the Farm: August 18, 2012
Gregorio Petit is continuing his unsung assault on International League pitching, while his teammate, Cord Phelps, saw his three-game homer streak come to an end. Ronny Rodriguez continues to make a case for a late promotion, while Kyle Blair continues to make a case to get out of baseball. At the top of the tonight's ATF heap is a guy with five straight multi-hit ballgames. Find out who, after the jump...

Around the Farm: August 17, 2012
For much of the year, Danny Salazar has been held to a very strict pitch count. Fresh off of Tommy John surgery, the Indians obviously want to be cautious of the young right-hander's innings count. On Friday, however, Salazar might have just pitched his best start yet. Plus, Thomas Neal continues to annihilate Double-A pitching. All this and more as IPI's Steve Orbanek takes you Around the Farm after the jump.

Around the Farm: August 16, 2012
The Indians system never sleeps, even when the big league club does. Ronny Rodriguez continued to show off his power with a mammoth blast in the Carolina League last night. Tyler Holt is beginning to heat up in Akron, as the Aeros push towards the playoffs. T.J. McFarland's topsy-turvy Triple A run continued with a solid performance for the Clippers. At the top of the ATF mountain is a guy who has eight hits in his last two ballgames, and no, it's not Dorssys Paulino (he only has 6). Find out who, after the jump...

Around the Farm: August 15, 2012
It was a big night for Tribe prospects, as Dorssys Paulino continued his barrage in the rookie league with another multi-hit game. Mitch Brown showcased his top-of-the-rotation talent as well. T.J. House continued his break-out party, and Cord Phelps showed off why many think he's a major league caliber player. At the top of the list is a catcher who many think is a sleeper in the system, who hit the game winner in Mahoning. Find out who...after the jump...

Around the Farm: August 14, 2012
Who is the top shortstop prospect in the Tribe's farm system? With every passing day, Dorssys Paulino is making a case that he deserves to be right up there with Francisco Lindor. Tuesday was no different as the 17-year-old Paulino might have just had his best offensive performance yet. Plus, the New York-Penn League hosted its 2012 All-Star Game, and a slew of Scrappers were there to participate. IPI's Steve Orbanek takes you Around the Farm after the jump...

Around the Farm: August 13, 2012
The Indians system was full of off nights and rainouts, but the lower minors had a chance to shine, as the Carolina Mudcats and the AZLIndians showcased several of the Indians top prospects doing their thing. Giovanny Urshela continued his hit streak, while Dwight Childs rolled out three hits of his own. Dorssys Paulino had another four-hit game, while the guy at the top slot also made his mark as a future shortstop in the system. Find out who, after the jump...

Around the Farm: August 12, 2012
Tony Wolters continues to have the type of season post-April that the Indians were hoping that he'd have, hitting .298, which is tops for the Mudcats over that stretch. Lake County had about 200 players roll out multi-hit games on Sunday, in a who's who of the most talented team in the system. At the top of ATF is a guy I've been high on all season...and the bandwagon is about to fill up...after the jump...

Around the Farm: August 11, 2012
Dillon Howard took to the mound, inducing 13 ground ball outs in a six-inning performance. Bryce Stowell and Rafael Perez returned on the relief front, for one inning of work each. Tony Wolters and Giovanny Urshela continued their hitting streaks, while the Sabour-tooth Tiger rolled out another two-hit performance. Logan Vick made an appearance in the top three, along with a couple of other guys that just don't get any respect...find out who, after the jump...

Around the Farm: August 10, 2012
2012 Third-Round draft pick Kieran Lovegrove enjoyed his first stellar outing in tonight's Around the Farm, after starting off the season as a struggling 17-year old. Nelson Rodriguez legged out his second triple of the season, while Joe Wendle continued to own the New York/Penn League. Jordan Henry is returning to form, while Gregorio Petit is in rare form. ATF's top slots go to a returning Indians' starter, and a returning Indians' prospect...after the jump...

Around The Farm: August 9, 2012
Matt LaPorta and Russ Canzler went back-to-back, Delvi Cid flashed his speed and a little bit of power, and Dorssys Paulino did the sort of Dorssys Paulino things that Jim Piascik just can't get enough of last night. Yet, a very familiar name managed to muscle his way to the top of Around The Farm. As always, click on the link to find out who that is and how the rest of the Tribe's minor league system did in today's edition of Around The Farm.
