Wow, what a big night for two Tribe second basemen in their farm system as both Joey Wendle and Jose Ramirez put up huge performances. The IBI's Michael Hattery discusses the two top second base prospects for the organization as well as many others in his trip around the farm on Monday night.
Daisuke Matsuzaka is still hanging around in the Indians organization and the results to date have been mixed. His performance continues to be inconsistent and he may not get a shot in Cleveland this year, but he has been battling each time out. The IBI's Arthur Kinney recaps his outing as well as a whole slew of guys on the farm.
There was plenty of action to recap Saturday night in the Indians farm system as all the affiliates were in action, and there were also many outstanding performances. Joe Wendle continued his recent tear with a record-setting night at Carolina while Danny Salazar put together his latest brilliant effort on the mound. Plus, Nellie Rodriguez had arguably his finest night as a professional. The IBI's Steve Orbanek recaps these performances and more as he takes you Around the Farm.
Some unsung heroes in the Indians system made their mark on Friday night as players like Bryson Myles, Bo Greenwell, Paolo Espino and others shook off some disappointment to date with their seasons to have big nights. The IBI's Arthur Kinney recaps those performances as well as several others in his trek around the farm...
A very happy Fourth of July to you! We at IBI hope you had a great holiday and enjoyed a little time off. There was no time off in the minor leagues Thursday, as all of Cleveland's affiliates were in action. Some did a little worse than others (like a pair of four-hit outings in Columbus and Carolina), though there were plenty of good performances, including some impressive pitching and hitting in Lake County. To read all about Thursday in the minor leagues, join Jim Piascik and go Around The Farm.
Sometimes greatness can spoil people. Francisco Lindor could spend almost every night atop Around The Farm, though sometimes we can take his all-around excellence for granted. Lindor is one of the transcendent prospects in the game of baseball and is the kind of talent every team wants in its system. The shortstop was at it again Wednesday night, along with plenty of other players throughout the system. To read all about them, join Jim Piascik as he goes Around The Farm.
It was a quiet night on the farm as rainouts postponed two games, but there still were some good performances around the Indians system. Carlos Moncrief continues to just terrorize baseballs as he sends them screaming when he makes contact. What a breakout year he has had. Several others had good and bad nights, and Arthur recaps it all...
The big league team was off on Monday, which put all of the focus on the minor league teams as every team was in action. There were some very good performances on the night - some not so good - but Danny Salazar, Jesus Aguilar, Dorssys Paulino and others headlined the night on the farm.
The Indians got a sensational performance on the mound on Sunday from Low-A right-handed pitcher Dylan Baker, and he has really strung together some good starts of late. Tony touches on him and many other players that were in action on Sunday from Akron to Arizona.
Each year, prospects rise and fall within the Indians system, and Joe Wendle can officially be classified as one of this year's biggest risers. Wendle had another brilliant performance Saturday as he recorded his fourth home run in his last eight games. Wendle was not the only player to impress though as Carlos Moncrief, Jose Ramirez and Juan Diaz all had strong nights at the plate. Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he recaps those performances and more as he takes you Around the Farm.
While the big league Indians may have swept the pale hose in a doubleheader at Comiskey Park (or whatever they call that place nowadays), it was a far different story in the farm system, where an Aeros victory was all that prevented an organizational sweep. So grab an airsickness bag and join the IBI's Arthur Kinney as he takes you on a turbulent ride Around The Farm...
All of the Indians affiliates were in action on Thursday night, including Columbus who had a doubleheader. There were several good and not so good performances on the night, but the one that really stood out was the start that left-hander Luis Lugo had for Mahoning Valley. Eric Haase and others also continue to make strides...
The Indians had a busy night on the farm as everyone was in action, although Columbus was suspended after three innings because of rain. Wonderkid Clint Frazier was back in the lineup on Wednesday after his multi-hit debut on Tuesday, and Joey Wendle continues to hit well at Carolina. Tony shares thoughts on both of them and more in ATF....
The wait is over. The Indians' 2013 first round pick Clint Frazier made his professional debut Tuesday for the AZL Indians, and let's just say it was one of the more memorable debuts in recent memory. Plus, Chris Perez turned in a perfect rehab outing for Mahoning Valley, and it looks like he could be on his way back to Cleveland. Join the IBI's Arthur Kinney as he recaps these performances and more as he takes you Around the Farm.
On Monday Night, the Indians pulled out two wins, and both in a dramatic fashion. The Mudcats managed to win their first second half game, and in walk-off fashion. Lake County overcame getting two-hit on the night to pull out a 1-0 win. There are some interesting names on the board tonight, with Joe Wendle leading the way thanks to a new power surge.
There were some major players in Sunday's ATF, as several top prospects had a big night for the Indians' organization. All the affiliates save the Carolina Mudcats won, giving lots of opportunities for solid performances. Leading the way on Sunday was a left-handed starter that is surging, a reliever that's making a case for time in the bigs, and perhaps the best prospect in all of baseball. Join Jim Pete for this Sunday's ATF.
