If you’re looking for someone with a contagious attitude, look no further than outfielder Carlos Moncrief. The native Mississippian has a trademark grin that shows up in the outfield and in the batter’s box, and it’s pretty easy to see why. A slow starter in the past, the arrival of June is just in time to heat up his cold bat. The IBI's Grant Miller recently sat down with the Indians top prospect about how he is adjusting to Triple-A and what he is doing to adjust to the new level.

It’s the little mistakes that can come back to haunt a team, and on Sunday the Columbus Clippers made one of those mistakes. A late wild pitch by Kyle Davies ultimately lead to the Louisville Bats (27-30) scoring the winning run in a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Clippers (26-30) on Sunday.

Some days a lineup can seem like they can hit anything and everything. That feeling must not be common for the last-place Charlotte Knights (18-35), but they certainly had a night to remember as they recorded 20 hits in an 18-9 victory over the Columbus Clippers (24-28)

Before right-hander Austin Adams had surgery on his throwing shoulder in May 2012, he was riding the crest of the wave. Over the 2010 and 2011 seasons, Adams threw 243 strikeouts in 248 innings in Single-A and Double-A. Then an injury came, threatening to make him another hurler derailed by the treatment table. But Adams hasn’t let that happen. The IBI's Grant Miller recently sat down with the talented righty to talk about his return from injury and recent success.

It takes a lot to shake a team – or a player – out of a slump. The most important ingredients in doing so are solid defense and consistent hitting. To get anywhere, there must be at least one of those two. The Columbus Clippers (22-26) are a team in a slump, and the absence of both those traits led to a 5-1 loss against the Durham Bulls (30-21) on Sunday evening.

Comebacks can make for exciting games, but they also make life difficult for the teams trying to complete them. The Columbus Clippers (22-23) came from behind not once, but twice on Thursday night, but they fell one comeback short in a 7-5 loss to the Durham Bulls (27-21) at Huntington Park.

A monster game from Carlos Moncrief propelled the Columbus Clippers to an 8-3 victory on the road against the Syracuse Chiefs on Sunday afternoon. The right fielder went 3-for-3 on the day, and was a triple shy of batting for the cycle, as the Clippers (22-20) gained the early upper hand on the Chiefs (21-22) by scoring five runs in the first three innings.

It was a classic case of too little, too late on Thursday afternoon for the slumping Columbus Clippers. Despite scoring four runs in the eighth inning, the Clippers (20-19) fell to the Rochester Red Wings (19-20) by a score of 5-4, the team’s third-straight loss and fourth in five games.

When base runners are hard to come by, you have got to make every single one count. That’s exactly what the Syracuse Chiefs did on Sunday afternoon as they defeated the Columbus Clippers 4-1 thanks to some timely hitting, and the home team’s defensive errors.
