Aguilar, Clippers knock off Indians, 5-4
Jesus Aguilar clocked a two-run shot in the bottom of the seventh to send the Columbus Clippers (54-47) back into a first place tie with a 5-4 victory over the Indianapolis Indians (54-47) on Friday night at Huntington Park. The win marked the first time that the Clippers have defeated the Indians at Huntington Park this season (previously 0-5).

Clippers snap skid, beat Indians 5-4
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Columbus Clippers (50-46) snapped a five game losing streak and ruined the 18th Anniversary celebration of Victory Field with a 5-4 win over the IL West leading Indianapolis Indians (53-43).

Columbus Clippers give up 3 in extras, lose to Pawtucket, 5-3
The Columbus Clippers scored a run in the bottom of the 10th, but still lost, 5-3, after giving up three runs in the top of the first frame of extra innings to the Pawtucket Red Sox. Bryan Price took the loss after Tyler Cloyd pitched 6.1 solid innings to start the game off for Columbus. Carlos Moncrief led the offense with three hits and a 10th-inning home run.

Clippers Notebook: Aguilar, Perez deserving All Stars
The Clippers started the week in second place, but winning all five home games against Louisville, Toledo and Pawtucket has propelled them into a first place tie with Indianapolis, which will make the next couple of weeks very interesting for Clippers fans. Clippers come through with a 5-3 win
he fireworks display began early for the 10,529 in attendance at Huntington Park on Friday night as the Columbus Clippers (47-41) and the Toledo Mud Hens (43-46) put seven of the games eight runs on the board in the bottom of the first and the top of the second innings. The Clippers used a four-run first to grab the early lead, one that they would not relinquish in a 5-3 victory that snapped a two-game losing streak.

Rain-shortened game ends with 6-3 Columbus Clippers victory
The Columbus Clippers took a 6-3 after a seven-inning, rain-shortened matchup with the Louisville Bats Tuesday. Each team totaled eight hits, but the Clippers used a five-run third inning to tie up the win. Zach McAllister improved to 4-0 on the season while Mark Lowe picked up his 10th save of 2014.

Clippers outclassed by Bisons, lose 7-1
The Columbus Clippers (42-39) needed a win on Friday night to earn a split against the Buffalo Bisons (41-39), but did not have enough offense. Buffalo backed a strong performance from starter P.J. Walters (2-0, 1.50) en route to a 7-1 victory over the Clippers at Coca-Cola Field.

Ciriaco leads Clippers past IronPigs, 6-4
The ability to come from behind is a necessity in any sport. Even more important is the ability to take the lead again after losing it the first. On Sunday afternoon, the Columbus Clippers proved they could do just that. The Clippers (40-36) scored the game’s final three runs as they beat the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (38-39) 6-4 for their second consecutive victory.

What can you say? Don’t pitch to guys named Martinez. Former Indian Victor Martinez continued to torture his former team, hitting a first pitch two-run shot to right in the fourth inning of Friday night’s 6-4 loss to the Tigers. As bad as it was to give up that homer, the three-run home run that John Axford gave up to J.D. Martinez in the eighth was the big one. Clippers fall to IronPigs on the road, 4-3
A two-out rally in the fifth inning was all the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (38-37) needed to hand the visiting Columbus Clippers (38-36) their third consecutive loss, 4-3, in front of 10,100 fans at Coca-Cola Park.

Columbus Clippers cruise to 6-2 victory against Buffalo Bisons
After taking a 3-0 lead in the third inning, the Columbus Clippers never looked back on their way to a 6-2 victory against the Buffalo Bisons. Even though Buffalo had one more hit in the game, the Clippers made their hits count when it mattered on their way to victory. Kyle Davies, Scott Barnes and Vinnie Pestano got the win, hold and save, respectively, for Columbus.

Clippers take out Rail Riders, 4-3
Audy Ciriaco broke an 0-for-11 slump with a three-run homer to right center field in the second inning, and Tyler Holt hit what turned out to be the game-winning home run in the fourth inning and the Columbus Clippers (34-33) held off the visiting Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Rail Riders (32-34) 4-3 in front of a sold out crowd of 10,478 at Huntington Park on Friday night.

McAllister, Aguilar pace Clippers in 14-2 route of Charlotte
The Columbus Clippers (32-33) continued their hot hitting road trip, pounding five home runs and 20 hits in a 14-2 victory of the Charlotte Knights on Tuesday afternoon at BB&T Stadium.
