Columbus Clippers demolish Louisville Bats, 9-5
Down a run in the ninth, the Columbus Clippers (72-61) put up five runs in the ninth to turn back the Louisville Bats (64-69) 9-5 at Louisville Slugger Field on Thursday night. In a back-and-forth battle, the Clippers loaded the bases with one out in the ninth down 5-4 off of reliever Fabio Castillo (2-1, 2.50). Justin Freeman replaced Castillo and got Francisco Lindor to hit a sacrifice fly to deep center, tying the game. It was the 20th blown save by the Louisville pitching staff.

Toledo Mud Hens pile on runs late against Columbus Clippers
The Columbus Clippers tied the Toledo Mud Hens at one in the fifth inning, but Toledo managed eight runs in the final four innings on its way to a 9-1 victory. Columbus gave up a total of 13 hits while tallying just seven base knocks itself. Kyle Davies took the loss for the Clippers after giving up four earned runs.

Clippers Notebook: Moncrief setting records with his arm
Triple-A Columbus is finishing strong and could be on the verge of clinching a playoff spot by the weekend. One of the keys to their playoff run has been the strong arm of Carlos Moncrief who now has 21 outfield assists on the season. The IBI's Michael Rich recently sat down with him to talk about his success this season both defensively and offensively, and he also runs down the week that was for the Clippers with all the news and notes.

Clippers drubbed by Mud Hens, lose 9-2
Sometimes you’re the bug. Sometimes you’re the windshield. The Columbus Clippers (70-59) played the role of bug on Sunday night, dropping the finale of the three game with the Toledo Mud Hens (63-66) at Fifth Third Field 9-2.

Urshela powers Clippers past Mud Hens, 6-2
The last time the Columbus Clippers (69-58) faced Toledo Mud Hens (62-65) starter Derek Hankins, he shut them down for 8.2 innings and held them to a run. But Giovanny Urshela and the rest of the Clippers offense got a measure of payback on Friday night in a 6-2 win at Fifth Third Field.

Ramsey sparks Columbus Clippers to win against Lehigh Valley
After the Columbus Clippers took an early 2-0 lead, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs came back to move ahead 3-2 before a three-run third inning put Columbus back ahead for good. James Ramsey sparked the clippers by going 5 for 5 with four RBIs, one home run and two doubles. Kyle Davies picked up the win while Bryan Price got the hold and Mark Lowe was credited with the save.

Lindor, Columbus Clippers pile on 6 in 4th in win against IronPigs
Outside of the fourth inning, the Columbus Clippers were held in check by the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. Fortunately for the Clippers, that fourth inning yielded six runs to power Columbus to a 6-1 win and erase an early deficit. Francisco Lindor finished with two hits, one home run and three RBIs, showing off his blue-chip ability.

Columbus Clippers hold on for 3-1 win against Pawtucket Red Sox
First impressions are so important in life and they’re pretty important in baseball too. Dusty Brown made a powerful first impression in his debut with the Columbus Clippers (62-56) on Tuesday afternoon. He hit two home runs, including one that broke a 1-1 tie in the seventh inning and sent the Clippers to a 3-1 victory over the Pawtucket Red Sox (64-54) in the finale at McCoy Stadium.

Clippers Notebook: Walters, Ramsey make their debut
The trade deadline came and went and the Cleveland Indians shipped off a pair of veterans. In exchange, they got young talent in the form of infielder Zach Walters and outfielder James Ramsey. Clippers rally falls just short as Bats prevail, 5-4
The reinforcements arrived on Friday night at Huntington Park, but it was not enough as the Columbus Clippers (59-55) lost the series finale 5-4 to the Louisville Bats (56-58) in front of 10,600 in attendance. With the loss, the Clippers finished off a 2-5 home stand.

After an offseason of change, Cloyd finally feels comfort
Through his first eight appearances of the season, Triple-A Columbus starting pitcher Tyler Cloyd struggled to a 1-3 record with a 6.38 ERA. He led the league with eight home runs given up and opponents were hitting .330 off of him. Masterson, Clippers fall to Tides at home, 5-2
The Columbus Clippers (57-51) ran into a buzz saw on Friday night by the name of the Norfolk Tides (49-58). Norfolk used two run producing innings and a solid start from Mike Wright to hold down the Clippers for a 5-2 win at Huntington Park in front of a packed house of 10,802.

Columbus Clippers rallyfor 8-5 in hit fest with Louisville Bats
After Monday's pitchers' duel, the Columbus Clippers battled to a 8-5 win against the Louisville Bats as the teams combined for 27 hits. Two different Columbus players tallied three hits in the game while another two had a pair of hits each. Every Clippers batter totaled at least one hit in the game, while just three didn't manage to cross home plate for a run.

Aguilar, Clippers knock off Indians, 5-4
Jesus Aguilar clocked a two-run shot in the bottom of the seventh to send the Columbus Clippers (54-47) back into a first place tie with a 5-4 victory over the Indianapolis Indians (54-47) on Friday night at Huntington Park. The win marked the first time that the Clippers have defeated the Indians at Huntington Park this season (previously 0-5).
