High-A Carolina outfielder Bo Greenwell was having one of his better seasons in 2011 when a pitch crushed his pinky finger in his hand and required reconstructive surgery. Since then it has been a struggle for him with several injuries and setbacks that have pushed him back in the organization, but he remains positive and confident in himself and is striving to finish this season strong to put him in the best possible position this offseason when he enters free agency.

The win snapped a five-game losing streak for the Mudcats and gave the team its first walk-off home run of the season. The teams traded runs throughout regulation until a three-run inning for the Mudcats in the 14th.

Less than two months ago High-A Carolina left fielder Bryson Miles could barely brush his teeth. He’d dove for a ball at Harry Grove Stadium and landed the wrong way, leading to a painful shoulder subluxation. Since then he has been working to get back to 100%, and the IBI's Jacqueline Kantor recently caught up with him to see how he is progressing.
