The Aeros struck first, and held on with strong hitting through a long rain delay to pull out a 6-3 victory over the Portland Sea Dogs on Friday night at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine. Akron’s lineup dominated the plate with fifteen hits and Jose Ramirez and Carlos Moncrief accounted for five of the Aeros’ runs.
One night after pulling out a low-scoring, narrow victory, the Akron Aeros' hitting came alive and clobbered the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 11-2 on Wednesday night at Canal Park. Akron has won two straight games against New Hampshire, showing much more life at the plate and are much more consistent with their pitching as well. It was a slow start but the Aeros’ lineup made up for lost time, scoring four runs each in the seventh and eighth innings en route to eleven runs total.
It took a much improved team effort for the Akron Aeros to end their four-game losing streak as they defeated the Harrisburg Senators 6-3 on Wednesday night at Canal Park. The Aeros' performance showed a major improvement in both steady pitching and hitting from the night before.
A solid first half for the Akron Aeros was not enough to hold off the Erie SeaWolves, who prevailed 4-2 on Saturday night at Canal Park. Akron’s tough defense and strong hitting carried over from Friday night but was overshadowed by weak relief pitching late in the game. The SeaWolves, who are second in the Eastern League in hitting, started out slow but smacked 10 crucial hits beginning in the fourth inning. After a 2-0 deficit early on, the SeaWolves rallied to take a 3-2 lead in the eighth inning and added one more in the ninth for the win.
Brett Myers was the headline, but it was a combined effort from pitcher Will Roberts and several major hits from the Aeros lineup that led to an Aeros 4-1 victory over the Erie SeaWolves Friday night at Canal Park. The win snapped their three game losing streak to successfully begin a seven-game homestand.
