A few days after the Indians announced that left-hander Scott Kazmir was sidelined with a rib cage strain, manager Terry Francona officially announced that rookie right-hander Trevor Bauer will be called up from Triple-A Columbus to make a spot-start in Kazmir’s place this Saturday the Rays. Some Tribe fans may have had flashbacks to opening day 2012 watching Thursday’s bout between the Indians and Padres in Peoria, Arizona. Justin Masterson shined in five innings of work leaving with a 3-2 lead. Apparently hitting home runs was as viral as the Harlem Shake in Scottsdale, Arizona on Tuesday as the Indians slugged their way to a 4-3 victory over the defending World Series champion San Francisco Giants. Both teams collected their share of runs via the long ball as Cleveland hitters clubbed three solo blasts while the Giants belted two of their own.
