Scrappers commit five errors in 8-4 loss
Just a night after the Scrappers emerged walk off winners in a fourteen inning half-marathon, the Scrappers delivered a decidedly lackluster outing, losing 8-4 to the Jamestown Jammers The fan of zany stats could have had a field day with this one. The Scrappers had five hits on the night, which is also the number of errors they committed.

Scrappers lose barnburner, 4-3
If last night was a heartbreaker, tonight was a backbreaker. It was just a night ago that the Scrappers fell behind to Batavia, regained the lead, and lost it late. Tonight wasn’t much different, as they battled back from a 3-0 hole to tie the game before eventually falling, 4-3.

Sisco dominates but settles for no-decision in Scrappers' loss
For a while, it seemed like an otherwise mundane Friday night was going to be a special night. Maybe even a perfect night. The weather was near perfect; mid-seventies, clear with a nice breeze. The atmosphere was near perfect, helped by a small but vibrant Eastwood Field crowd. And the game was…near perfect, at least for one man.

Big ninth propels Auburn past Scrappers, 12-5
If you like offense, Eastwood Field was the place to be Thursday Night. At least for the first few innings it was, as the Scrappers and Doubledays engaged in an offensivedogfight in the first four frames. In the end, it was the Scrappers plane that was shot from the skies, as Auburn capitalized on walks and errors to win 12-5.

Lucas delivers late in Scrappers 5-4 win
Just a night after Eastwood Field played host to the NYPL All-Star Game, it served as the battleground for a the Scrappers and Auburn Doubledays. The big crowd and large media presence were gone, but those that turned up to watch the teams continue their respective regular seasons saw a dandy, as they watched the Scrappers just edge the Doubledays in what was a nip-and-tuck 5-4 affair.

Scrappers players shine in NYPL All Star game
Niles, Ohio isn’t usually the place to be. But for one night, it was. At least it was for the elite of the New York-Penn League, as they gathered to take part in the New-York Penn League All-Star Game on what was a rainy August evening. Joining them were several thousand of their family members, closest friends, and biggest fans, as Eastwood Field played host to it’s first ever All-Star Game. Matt Miller recaps the game.

Lee's striking pro debut makes him an All Star
The NY-Penn League All Star game gets underway tomorrow night right in our very own backyard at Mahoning Valley. Five Scrappers will get to enjoy the hometown festivities, and one of those is right-hander Jacob Lee who is off to a very good pro start putting up some very good numbers. Matt Miller had a chance to sit down with him recently and discuss his season to date.

Scrappers rally to halt skid
Facing a 3-1 deficit heading into the late innings, it may have seemed like déjà vu for the Scrappers, who found themselves in the midst of a stretch where nothing seemed to be going to plan. But a late five run rally was the perfect remedy for their struggles, as they went on to defeat the Batavia Muckdogs 7-3 Friday night and end their six game losing streak.

DeJesus is making a name for himself in 2012
The NY-Penn League All Star game is set to take place this coming Tuesday at Eastwood Field, the home of the Indians' short season Single-A Mahoning Valley affiliate. The starter for the American League in the game is none other than the Indians' and Scrappers' very own Luis DeJesus. The IPI's Matt Miller recently sat down with the talented righty about his season to date and his selection to the All Star team.

Scrappers drop fifth in a row
The Scrappers are mimicking their big-league affiliate in the wrong way. Though they haven’t yet matched that 11 game slide that the Indians had, they are currently in the middle of their own mini-slump, as the Williamsport Crosscutters dealt them their fifth straight loss, and sixth in their last seventh Wednesday.

‘Cutters deal Scrappers fourth straight loss
After getting swept in Troy by the ValleyCats, the Scrappers hoped the home turf of Eastwood Field would provide some much needed momentum. It wasn’t friendly Tuesday, however. The Scrappers only gathered six hits in contest, losing their fourth straight game after dropping Tuesday’s opener with the Williamsport Crosscutters 6-2.

Scrappers get swept by Tri-City
Despite a solid start from Jacob Lee, the Scrappers were left licking their wounds Monday afternoon, as they fell victim to a three game sweep at the hands of the Tri-City ValleyCats with a 5-1 loss. That start from Lee was, albeit short, almost flawless. He pitched four shutout innings, allowing only one hit and two walks while fanning five.
