Pitching coach manhunt
New Indians manager Terry Francona is still working through the interview process to finalize his coaching staff for the 2013 season. Other than Sandy Alomar Jr and Brad Mills, it is unknown as to what other coaches will be joining his staff. The most important decision Francona makes probably is who comes in to be the new pitching coach, and Adam McGavin chimes in with his thoughts on that and lists several potential candidates that Francona may be considering for the job.

Second Thoughts: Game #162 White Sox 9, Indians 0
Well, it's over. The Indians finished up one of the most disappointing seasons they have had in a very long time, and Wednesday night's game was a microcosm of the entire season: inconsistent starting pitching, poor hitting, and shaky defense. Adam McGavin gives his thoughts on the game one last time this season...

Second Thoughts: Game #160 White Sox 11, Indians 0
What started as a pitcher’s duel gave way to an eleven-run thumping from the White Sox last night as the Indians were shut out 11-0. There were no runs scored through five, but Corey Kluber unraveled and the Tribe ‘pen didn’t have any answers....and the recently hot Indians offense could do little against starter Hector Santiago and the Sox relief corps. Adam McGavin shares his thoughts on the game.

Second Thoughts: Game #156 Indians 6, White Sox 4
The Indians won their final road game of the season by beating the White Sox 6-4 on Wednesday night, largely thanks to a strong showing from the bullpen. By taking the rubber game of their series against Chicago, the Indians bumped the Sox out of 1st place in the division. Adam McGavin chimes in with his second thoughts on the game.

Second Thoughts: Game #154 - Indians 4, White Sox 5
The Indians fought admirably on Monday night, but Vinnie Pestano had a rare stumble and a two-out, 9th inning rally came up just short as the Indians fell to the White Sox 5-4. Zach McAllister pitched very well and the Indians hung in there against Chris Sale, but two Adam Dunn homers did them in. Adam McGavin shares his thoughts on the game.

Second Thoughts: Game #149 Twins 6, Indians 4
The Indians officially moved into last place in the AL Central with their 6-4 loss to the Twins on Wednesday night, and now have the worst record in the American League. Once again the Indians did not get a good outing from their starting pitcher and the offense was completely absent for most of the game. It all added up to another Tribe loss and they are amazingly just 17-48 in their last 65 games. Adam McGavin recaps another loss...

A Dose of Sunshine: Part two
In his follow up to his first piece that posted two weeks ago, Adam McGavin tries to find a light in the darkness that has been the Indians final two months of the 2012 season. Everyone knows that the Indians biggest strength lies in their bullpen, and he takes a look at some of the good arms the Indians have stockpiled there as well as some good young players at other positions.

Second Thoughts: Game #143 Indians 2, Rangers 5
It was the same old story last night for the Indians as inconsistent starting pitching and a popgun offense resulted in a 5-2 loss against the Rangers. Jeanmar Gomez was not good in his start and the offense squandered numerous scoring opportunities, and it resulted in their fifth straight loss and are now 15-44 in their last 59 games. Adam McGavin has the details...

Second Thoughts: Game #141 Indians 2, Twins 7
The Indians could muster little in the way of offense and lose 7-2 to the Twins last night, and the loss drops them into a tie with the Twins for last place in the American League Central. Justin Masterson started out incredibly well, but unraveled, while the Tribe took the series loss in their four-game set with the Twins. Adam McGavin shares his thoughts on the game...

A Dose of Sunshine: Part one
While many people view the Indians situation at the moment as a complete train wreck, Adam McGavin tries to look past the darkness and find some light to shine on a bleak situation. In his first part of a two-part article, he says that any positive vibe should start with a strong group of players up the middle of the diamond and some key trade pieces that could bring in a few players that could help now and in the future.

Second Thoughts: Game #135 Indians 3, Tigers 2
The Indians may be scuffling since the end of July, but for whatever reason, they continue to play the Tigers tough this season and won another matchup against them yesterday 3-2. Corey Kluber put forth his most consistent outing of the season for the Indians, the bullpen did its job late, and Asdrubal Cabrera had two quality run scoring plate appearances. Adam McGavin shares his thoughts on the game.

Second Thoughts: Game #130 A's 8, Indians 4
Ugh oh. The Tribe is on another losing streak as they lost their fourth game in a row to the Athletics last night 8-4. That is now 13 of 14 games they have lost and an astounding 26 of 31 games. These are the kind of late season meltdowns that get people fired. Nonetheless, Adam McGavin watched the game last night and shares his thoughts on what transpired and more.

Second Thoughts: Game #128 Athletics 3, Indians 0
The Indians lost their second in a row last night to the Athletics by a score of 3-0. They are now 5-24 in their last 29 games and are 11-32 since the All Star break. It goes without saying that things have not been going the Indians' way of late and that the team is in a freefall and without a parachute. Adam McGavin shares his thoughts on another lackluster Tribe performance.

Right on, Way off: Will Acta be fired before the season ends?
Will Manny Acta be fired before the end of the season, or will the Indians wait until the offseason to assess their manager and front office situation? Should Ezequiel Carrera be starting everyday in left field the rest of the season, or should others get a look in left? Should Justin Masterson remain in the starting rotation, or should he be move to the bullpen? Those are questions that Adam McGavin takes a look at both sides of the argument before sharing his thoughts on what should be done.

Second Thoughts: Game #124 Mariners 3, Indians 1
The Indians offense sputtered once again on Wednesday afternoon in Oakland, and even a quality start from Zach McAllister was not enough as they fell 3-1 to the Athletics. They have now lost 19 of their last 20 road games and 21 of their last 25 overall, and Adam McGavin shares his second thoughts on the problems at hand for the Indians.

Second Thoughts: Game #118 - Indians 4, Angels 8
If you watched the game last night you saw one of the most embarrassing displays of defense by the Indians in the second inning that has been seen in some time. It was a comedy of errors not only physically but mentally as well, and it contributed to a five-run Angels inning that put the game early en route to an 8-4 Angels win. Adam McGavin is here to give his second thoughts on last night's debacle.
