Winter Ball Notebook: Jesus Aguilar returns
While the AFL may have closed its doors last week, a number of winter leagues remain in action, which means that a handful of Indians players are still in action. Jesus Aguilar made his return to the Venezuelan Winter League this past week plus left-handed pitcher Nick Hagadone pitched in a game for the first time since breaking his wrist during the 2012 season. The IPI's Steve Orbanek recaps the performances of Aguilar, Hagadone as well as others in this week's Winter Ball Notebook.

Around the Farm: November 20, 2012
It was a somewhat quiet night for Indians players playing winter ball on Tuesday, but there were a handful of players in action, including the return of left-hander Nick Hagadone, who made his debut with Aguilas Cibaenas in the DWL. His performance was less than stellar, but nonetheless, it was nice to see him back on the mound. The IPI's Steve Orbanek recaps all the action as he takes you Around the Farm.

Then & Now: Jesus Aguilar
Jesus Aguilar just completed his fifth season as a member of one of the Cleveland Indians affiliates. The powerful first baseman remains one of the most popular prospects in the Tribe's system, but it's still no foregone conclusion that he will one day be a member of the Indians Major League roster. Around the Farm: November 16, 2012
A slew of Indians prospects were in action on Friday night, including Jose Ramirez who happened to extend his hit-streak to five games. Plus while it's still early, Andrew Campbell is starting to make some noise in the Australian Baseball League. Winter Ball Notebook: AFL season closes shop
The Scottsdale Scorpions ended their AFL season Thursday, which means a number of Indians players have completed their tour of winter ball duty. In this week's Winter Ball Notebook, the IPI's Steve Orbanek looks back at some of the top performers from the Scottsdale squad, including Alex Monsalve and Tyler Holt, while also touching on some of the other Indians playing in other various winter leagues.

Then & Now: Cord Phelps
Cord Phelps ended the 2012 season as a member of the Cleveland Indians roster. While he played well down the stretch, there are no guarantees that he'll be a member of the team come April. It's been an up-and-down road for Phelps and his baseball career as he's dominated the minors but struggled in the Majors. Cleveland Sports Insiders: ESPN's John Clayton to appear
Jim and Steve return to the cyber airways tonight and welcome a new guest: ESPN NFL Insider John Clayton. Clayton will join the guys in the first half hour and offer his thoughts on the Cleveland Browns, the team's new ownership as well as starting quarterback Brandon Weeden. John will also offer a prognosis as to what could be ahead for the Browns. Plus, in the second half hour, Jim and Steve tackle all things Cavaliers and Indians. All this and more when CSI goes live tonight at 11 p.m.

Many Tribe fans got their first look at Arizona Fall League action Saturday night as the MLB Network televised the Scottsdale Scorpions game. Ronny Rodriguez was in action in the contest, and a number of other Indians prospects competed in the various winter leagues on Saturday. Indians prospects continued to compete in winter leagues this past week, and a number of players have really started to heat up. Fresh off a brilliant 2012 campaign, Jose Ramirez seems to have picked up right where he left off, and catcher Alex Monsalve is now in the midst of a five-game hitting streak. Indians acquire Mike Aviles, trade Rogers
The Cleveland Indians made their first move of the offseason Saturday as they acquired Mike Aviles and Yan Gomes from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for right-handed reliever Esmil Rogers. Aviles appeared in 136 games for the Boston Red Sox last season and hit .250 with 13 home runs and 60 RBI.

Winter Ball Notebook: Moncrief is healthy

Carlos Moncrief was removed from the taxi squad this week and should be performing regularly for the remainder of the AFL season.
