If you take away the third, fourth and fifth innings, the Indians pitching staff threw great in Sunday’s game; however, three awful relief innings by AZL Indians relief pitcher Anthony Vizcaya spelled “doom” for the Tribe, as they got pummeled by the AZL Rangers 8-2.

The weather is not the only thing that is hot in Arizona these days. The relief pitching was strong and everyone around the lineup contributed in a hard-fought, 6-4 victory over the AZL Reds (3-11) on Saturday evening at Goodyear Ballpark.

Aeros drives Squirrels nuts with 14 hits in 6-2 win
The hits just kept on coming for the Akron Aeros Friday night in Richmond. By the end of the night, the Flying Squirrels weren’t sure if they had been in a ball game or a special edition of American Top 40. After collecting 13 hits in a win on Thursday, the Aeros surpassed that mark by one, pounding out 14 hits on their way to a 6-2 victory over the Squirrels.

Packer Twirls Another Gem, Gets Help from Pen in 3-1 Win
On a night when the Akron Aeros needed a stopper, they got three. The AZL Indians treated all who attended their game Friday night in Surprise, Arizona to nine innings of relatively boring baseball. It might have been the 110° desert heat, or possibly that they didn’t have enough gas left in the tank after their 12-11 victory over the AZL Padres on Thursday, but whatever it was, the Indians could not muster up any offense in a 6-1 loss to the Rangers.

Urshela's clutch hit helps end Aeros' losing streak
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. And when the opposition gives up back-to-back walks in the eighth inning of a tie game, go for the jugular. Such was the approach used by Akron Aeros third baseman Giovanny Urshela, who cracked a two-out, RBI single to center field in the bottom of the eighth inning Thursday night, lifting the Aeros to a 3-2 victory over the Altoona Curve in the opener of a five-game series at Canal Park.

A few pitching hiccups at the beginning and end of the AZL Indians’ game proved to be costly, as the Indians fell to the Brewers 9-8 in extra innings Wednesday night at Goodyear Ballpark, and extended the Indians’ losing streak to three games.
