IBI on Site 1.05
Here is episode number five this season of "IBI on Site", a new exciting project here at the IBI. In this week's show we go on site to Akron, home of the Indians' Double-A affiliate Akron RubberDucks. Host Hayden Grove talks to manager Dave Wallace about a lot of his players, interviews outfielder Bryson Myles on camera, and also checks in with IBI contributor and RubberDucks intern Jake Dungan to get his thoughts on the RubberDucks experience and what he has seen the first month-plus of the season from the players.

Akron RubbeDucks come back before falling to Altoona, 4-3
The Akron RubberDucks lost to the Altoona Curve, 4-3, Monday after finding themselves down 2-0 in the first. Akron scored twice in the fifth and once in the seventh to take the lead, but Altoona came back with a two-run eighth inning. Starter Gabriel Arias pitched 5.2 innings with eight hits and two runs on five strikeouts. Alex Lavisky finished two for three with a walk and a run scored.

Plutko paces Lake County Captains to 3-2 walk-off win against Fort Wayne
The Lake County Captains picked up their 14th win of the season by beating the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 3-2, Monday. Lake County scattered three one-run innings behind two hits from Anthony Santander and Claudio Bautista. Bautista added a solo home run and two RBIs. Pitcher Adam Plutko finished seven innings with three hits and two runs – only one of which was earned.

Lee optioned to Columbus, House recalled
The Cleveland Indians today announced that they have recalled left-handed pitcher T.J. House from Triple-A Columbus and optioned right-handed reliever C.C. Lee to Columbus.

SeaWolves Edge RubberDucks, 2-1
Erie SeaWolves lefty Kyle Ryan tossed shutout baseball for nearly seven innings, and Jason Krizan had a pair of hits and an RBI to lead Erie to a 2-1 victory over the Akron RubberDucks Saturday night at Jerry Uht Park. The loss snapped Akron’s four-game winning streak and set the stage for the rubber-match of the three-game series on Sunday afternoon at 1:35. The RubberDucks (27-14) maintained their five-game lead in the EL West, as second-place Bowie lost at Reading. Despite the loss, Akron is still one of the hottest teams in the minor leagues, having won 17 of the last 20 games.

Indians promote Crockett to Cleveland, option Salazar
The Cleveland Indians today announced they have selected the contract of left-handed pitcher Kyle Crockett from Double-A Akron and have optioned right-handed pitcher Danny Salazar to Triple-A Columbus.

Whitecaps Down Captains 5-2, skid reaches five
Raph Rymes singled home Harold Castro to add an insurance run in the eighth inning, and the Whitecaps defeated the Captains 5-2 on Thursday. Lake County has now dropped five-straight games, and their record on the road fell to 2-18.

Aguilar promoted to Cleveland, Morgan placed on DL
The Cleveland Indians today announced they have recalled first baseman Jesus Aguilar from Triple-A Columbus and placed outfielder Nyjer Morgan on the 15-day Disabled List with a right knee sprain.

Host Hayden Grove talks to IBI Clippers beat reporter Adrienne Robbins and AM 920 WMNI's Darius Thigpen about the performance to date of the Clippers team and several players on the roster. Hayden also takes us on a tour of the Huntington Park facility and shows off all of the great ways to view a game there.

RubberDucks drop series finale to Curve, 7-4
The Altoona Curve took an early lead over the Akron RubberDucks Sunday afternoon, pulling out a 7-4 victory over the Akron RubberDucks at Canal Park on the final day of the four-game series.

Colon shines as RubberDucks defeat Curve, 2-0
The Altoona Curve managed just a single hit in six shutout innings against Akron starter Joe Colon (2-2, 2.50). The Akron bullpen continued to shut down the Curve offense by allowing just one more hit in Saturday's 2-0 victory at Canal Park.

Lake County Captains win with walk-off balk in 11th inning against Bowling Green
After posting 10 runs through six innings, the Lake County Captains allowed the Bowling Green Hot Rods to storm back form a nine-run deficit to tie the game. Neither team scored in the ninth or tenth before the Captains scored off a Bowling Green balk in the 11th. Clint Frazier, Anthony Santander, Grant Fink and Brian Ruiz each tallied two hits while Claudio Bautista scored the winning run.

Never-say-die RubberDucks stun Curve, win 9-7
After trailing by five runs in the seventh inning, the Akron RubberDucks rallied on the strength of Francisco Lindor’s grand slam in the eighth, and stunned the Altoona Curve with a 9-7 victory in the opener of a four-game series at Canal Park.

Akron RubberDucks fall to Erie SeaWolves, 10-3
The Akron RubberDucks took on the Erie SeaWolves looking for win No. 21 Wednesday. Unfortunately for the RubberDucks, that win will have to wait as they fell to Erie, 10-3. Starter Cody Anderson lasted just 2.2 innings, giving up all 10 runs on nine hits. Enosil Ejada, Tyler Sturdevant and Shawn Armstrong combined to go 5.1 innings of shutout ball, but it was too little, too late for Akron.

RubberDucks hold off SeaWolves, extend streak to 10
Akron right-hander Toru Murata threw six shutout innings, and third baseman Ronny Rodriguez had three RBI as the Akron RubberDucks won their 10th consecutive game with a 4-2 victory over the Erie SeaWolves at Jerry Uht Park.

The Cleveland Indians today announced that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Josh Tomlin from Triple-A Columbus and have designated catcher George Kottaras for assignment.

IBI on Site 1.03
In episode three of this season's new TV program here at IBI, host Hayden Grove goes "on site" to Lake County and Akron and talks with the IBI's Tony Lastoria about some prospects and the development struggles young players may go through. He also conducts an on-air interview with top prospect Clint Frazier and sits down with both Lake County manager Marc Budzinski and Akron manager Dave Wallace to get their thoughts on their respective teams.

Akron RubberDucks bury Erie SeaWolves with 16 hits to win, 10-1
After a scoreless start, the Akron RubberDucks jumped out for a 10-1 win against the Erie SeaWolves, Monday. Akron, powered by multi-hit games from Tyler Naquin, Tyler Holt, Bryan LaHair, Joe Wendle, Bryson Myles and Ronny Rodriguez, finished the night with 16 hits, compared to four for Erie. Will Roberts did his part with 6.1 innings of three-hit, one-run ball.

Gomes reactivated, Giambi placed on DL
The Cleveland Indians today announced that they have activated catcher Yan Gomes from the Paternity List and placed designated hitter Jason Giambi (right calf strain) on the 15-day Disabled List, retroactive to May 4.

RubberDucks complete sweep of Curve, 8-straight wins
Akron RubberDucks first baseman Ronny Rodriguez smacked a two-out, opposite-field double in the eighth inning Sunday, driving in the, eventual, winning run in a 5-4 victory over the Altoona Curve at People’s Natural Gas Field. The win completed a four-game series sweep for the RubberDucks (18-11), and extended the team’s winning streak to eight games. Akron is now 7-2 on the season against Altoona.
