Aeros Capture Extra-Inning Win over Baysox
Akron’s Chun Chen drew a bases-loaded walk with two outs in the 10th inning Friday night, forcing in the go-ahead run, and setting the stage for a 10-7 victory over the Bowie Baysox at Prince George’s Stadium. Chen was 2-4, with three RBI in the game, and raised his average to .320. He belted a two-run double off the wall in left field in the seventh, part of a five run Aeros rally.

Baysox, Gausman Win in Home Opener
The Baysox (4-4) led the Akron Aeros (2-5) from start to finish in a 5-1 win Thursday evening in the home opener in Bowie for the team's third straight win. Baysox starter Kevin Gausman cruised in his second start of the season, pitching six innings and allowing one run on two hits while striking out five in the win.

Blue Rocks clamp down on the Mudcats, 5-1
Sam Selman and the Wilmington Blue Rocks’ bullpen held the Carolina Mudcats to one hit over eight innings to aide their team in pulling away for a 5-1 victory on Tuesday night at Five County Stadium. The win clinched the series for Wilmington (3-2), and the Mudcats fell to 3-2 on the year.

The Carolina Mudcats attempted a remarkable comeback against the Wilmington Blue Rocks Monday night, but were left with their first season loss falling short, 7-6.

The Lansing Lugnuts used a four run first inning to grab an early lead en route to defeating the Captains by a score of 8-1 at Classic Park on Saturday Afternoon.

Captains fall to Lugnuts, 5-3
The Lansing Lugnuts used a four run two out rally in the sixth inning to secure the 5-3 victory over the Captains on Friday night at Classic Park. Ryan Merritt (0-1) started for the Captains and pitched five innings allowing five hits and one earned run and also struck out five, but was saddled with the loss.

Indians ink Jason Giambi to minor league deal
The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has signed free free agent designated hitter/first baseman Jason Giambi to a Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to Major League camp. Giambi, 42, owns a career Major League batting average of .280 (1968-for-7021) with 395 doubles, 9 triples, 429 home runs and 1405 RBI over 18 seasons and 2163 games since debuting with Oakland in 1995.

Indians announce broadcast schedule for 2013
The Cleveland Indians have announced the broadcast times for all of their spring training and regular season games, and the broadcast schedule for all of their games on radio and TV as well. Six spring training games will air in March and a total of 161 games will air on SportsTime Ohio and nationally on Fox this season.

Why Trevor Bauer is the perfect fit in Cleveland
When the Arizona Diamondbacks agreed to include Trevor Bauer in a deal this offseason that sent him to the Cleveland Indians, many inside baseball thought that something had to have gone terribly wrong between the pitcher and his old team. No one may ever know the truth, but in Cleveland’s case, they are saying nothing but positive things about their top pitching prospect now.

Aeros clinch Eastern League Championship
The Akron Aeros are the champions of the Eastern League for the 2012 season. On Saturday night, the Aeros completed a storybook season, and an improbable playoff resurrection, as they defeated the Trenton Thunder, 6-1, to win the EL Championship Series, three games to one. It is the fourth Eastern League pennant for the franchise since it relocated to the Akron/Canton area in 1989.

Trenton defeats Akron 11-7 to force Game 4
Trenton's Zoilo Almonte went 2-5 with five RBIs, including his second three-run homer of the series, as the Thunder out-slugged the Akron Aeros, 11-7, in game three of the EL Championship Series on Friday night at Waterfront Park.

Aeros take commanding 2-0 lead in series
Akron’s Ryan Rohlinger stroked a two-run home run to cap a five-run third inning Wednesday, as the Akron Aeros defeated the Trenton Thunder, 7-5, in game two of the Eastern League Championship series at Canal Park. With the win, the Aeros (82-59, 5-2) gained a commanding, two games to none lead in the best-of-five series.

Myles & Smith help Captains tie series
Bryson Myles had three hits and Jordan Smith knocked in a pair as The Lake County Captains defeated the Fort Wayne Tincaps by a final of 7-4 at Classic Park. Lake County scored five times in the second inning. Jose Ramirez singled to give the Captains a 3-1 lead. Later in the inning, Jordan Smith lined a triple down the right field and two runners scored and the lead was 5-1. Lake County evens the Eastern Division Championship Series at one game apiece.

Lake County drops Game 1 to Fort Wayne, 4-3
Yeison Asencio had two RBI's and the go-ahead single in the eighth inning as The Fort Wayne Tincaps defeated the Lake County Captains 4-3 in Parkview Field. Travis Jankowski led off the bottom of the eighth inning with a double to left field and then was sacrificed to third base. With the runner on third and one out, Asencio singled home the winning run.

Lake County Advances To Semi-Finals
Bryson Myles scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the tenth inning as The Lake County Captains defeated the Bowling Green Hot Rods 5-4 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to advance to the semi-finals.

Mudcats end season with 5-2 loss
The Frederick Keys scored five unanswered over the second half of the game to drop the Carolina Mudcats 5-2 in the season finale on Monday afternoon at Harry Grove Stadium.
