Fisher Cats Come Alive Late, Stun Aeros in Ninth
New Hampshire right fielder Brad Glenn emerged as the hero Wednesday night when he laced a run-scoring single to complete an improbable, five-run, ninth-inning comeback for the Fisher Cats in a 9-8 victory over the Akron Aeros at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

Mudcats Swamped in Wilmington
For the second straight night, the Wilmington Blue Rocks surged ahead by five, only to hold on for a 6-4 win against the Carolina Mudcats. Carolina (20-39) finished with two wins in their seven-game road trip. Cody Anderson (5-3) tossed his shortest outing of the year for the Mudcats, allowing four runs on six hits in only three innings of work. It was the first time in 12 starts that the right-hander failed to make it through five.

Rodriguez homer helps lift Aeros to 7-5 win
As the season moves into the hot summer months, the only thing heating up faster than the temperature is Ronny Rodriguez’ bat. The Akron second baseman was 2-3, with a three-run home run Friday night as the Aeros outlasted the Reading Fightin’ Phils, 7-5, in the opening game of a three-game series at First Energy Stadium.

Mudcats win series finale 11-4
Zebulon, N.C. – The Carolina Mudcats allowed eight runs in a disastrous seventh inning as the Winston-Salem Dash claimed the finale of weekend series with an 11-4 win on Sunday afternoon. A crowd of 5,968 at Five County Stadium watched the Dash end Carolina’s three-game winning streak at home.

Mudcats’ Rally Falls Short in Series Loss to Pelicans
The Carolina Mudcats scored two runs in the ninth inning, but came up one short in a 3-2 loss to Myrtle Beach on Wednesday night at TicketReturn.com Field. The loss was Carolina’s 14th in one-run finals this year, and second straight to the Pelicans. Myrtle Beach increased their Carolina League-best record to 29-16 while the Mudcats fell to 15-30 in the first half.

Mudcats fall 3-2 in 11 innings
Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Edwin Garcia bounced an infield single inches past the glove of J.D. Reichenbach to plate the winning run as the Myrtle Beach Pelicans escaped the Carolina Mudcats 3-2 in 11 innings on Tuesday night at TicketReturn.com Field. Carolina (15-29) dropped their 13th game decided by one run, and fell to 1-3 in extra-inning games.

Mudcats fall in extras to the Hillcats, 7-6
Matt Weaver’s third hit of the night proved to be a knockout blow as the Lynchburg Hillcats edged the Carolina Mudcats 7-6 in 11 innings on Friday night at Calvin Falwell Field inside City Stadium. The game was Carolina’s fifth in the last seven games decided by one run.

Mudcats blasted 11-4 by first place Lynchburg
The Lynchburg Hillcats clubbed 11 hits against the Carolina Mudcats en route to an 11-4 triumph at Five County Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Hillcats improved to 19-15, taking the four-game series by way of winning the first three. The Mudcats (13-23) dropped their sixth straight at home.

Timely Hits, Bullpen Key ‘Cats Sweep of Salem Twin Bill
The Carolina Mudcats received the clutch hits they had been searching for, and the bullpen held the Salem Red Sox at bay in a doubleheader sweep on Thursday night at LewisGale Field. The Mudcats snapped a five-game losing skid with a 2-1 triumph in game one, and pulled away for a game two victory, 4-1.

Bees dominate Captains 4-1
The Lake County Captains fell to the Burlington Bees by a final of 4-1 on Saturday Night. Burlington scored three runs in the seventh inning highlighted by a RBI single by Pedro Toribio. The three run spread proved to be the difference in the loss.

Akron Aeros right fielder Carlos Moncrief stroked a game-winning, RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning Saturday night, to give the Aeros a thrilling, 4-3 victory over the Bowie Baysox at Canal Park.

Captains and Chiefs game canceled on Friday
The Lake County Captains game against the Peoria Chiefs, which was scheduled for Friday has been cancelled due to inclement weather. Due to the fact that the teams do not play again this season, the game will not be made up.

Chiefs Belt 4 HR and Beat Captains 13-10
The Peoria Chiefs defeated the Lake County Captains on a walk off three run home run by Jacob Wilson on Wednesday Night at Peoria Chiefs Stadium. The final was 13-10. The Chiefs (11-12) hit for the homerun cycle. Geoff Klein hit a grand slam in the first inning, and that was followed by a two run homer by Wilson in the second inning. Charlie Tilson hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the fourth inning and then the game winner the three run shot in the bottom of the ninth was the second homer of the day for Wilson. The Captains (8-18) have now lost back to back games.

Mudcats stuck in mud, swept in twin bill by P-Nats
Michael Taylor lined the game-winner off the left field wall in the bottom of the seventh as the Potomac Nationals rallied past the Carolina Mudcats 4-3 in game two. The walkoff, coupled with a 5-0 shutout in game one, earned a doubleheader sweep for the Nationals (12-13). The Mudcats (10-15) have lost four straight.

Cooper's gem leads Mudcats over the Keys
Jordan Cooper tossed his best outing of the season as the Carolina Mudcats dominated the Frederick Keys 10-2 at Harry Grove Stadium on Friday night. The win is Carolina’s fourth in five games, and improves their record to 10-11. The Keys fall to an equal record, and under .500 for the first time this season.

Thunder storms the Aeros, 13-8
One thing is certain for the 2013 Akron Aeros. Every game so far has been, well, entertaining. That was little consolation for the Aeros Monday night, when they spotted the Trenton Thunder a seven-run head start, and ended up losing a high-octane shootout, 13-8, at Canal Park. The Aeros were hoping to build on the momentum of a win over Bowie on Sunday. The young Yankees prospects on the Thunder, however, had other ideas.
