Indians sign top picks Naquin and Brown
On Friday afternoon the Cleveland Indians announced that they have signed first round pick outfielder Tyler Naquin and second round pick right-handed pitcher Mitchell Brown to minor league contracts.

Red Sox hold onto early lead, beat Mudcats 4-3
With a first half crown hanging in the balance, the Salem Red Sox scored four early runs, and held on for a 4-3 win over the Carolina Mudcats on Thursday night at Salem Memorial Ballpark. Carolina drops to 31-36 with the setback. Matt Barnes (5-1) once again shined for the Red Sox (39-27) who move to within two games of Winston-Salem for first place in the Southern Division. Barnes fanned nine hitters over five innings. The right-hander allowed one run on two hits.

Gallas, Mudcats pounds Lynchburg, 7-2
Kyle Blair stifled Lynchburg hitters, and the Carolina Mudcats’ offense pulled away for a 7-2 victory on Wednesday night at Lynchburg City Stadium. Three players had multi-hit efforts in the win for Carolina (31-35). Blair (5-1) earned his fourth straight winning decision, holding the Hillcats (35-31) to one run on two hits over five innings.

Mudcats swept in Tuesday night doubleheader
The Lynchburg Hillcats swept a twin bill from the Carolina Mudcats on a Tuesday night that featured delays for a threat of weather and a power outage at Lynchburg City Stadium. It marks the third time Carolina has dropped both games of a doubleheader.

The Indians announced today that they have signed nine players selected in last week's 2012 Draft. In all they signed nine 2012 Draft picks and more are expected in the coming days.

Wright strong in 2-1 victory
Steven Wright held the New Britain Rock Cats to two hits and a run over seven innings Thursday night, winning his fifth game of the year and lifting the Aeros to a 2-1 victory at Canal Park. The Aeros (36-20) completed a three-game sweep of the Rock Cats and have won seven of the last eight games. The Aeros have won nine straight home games, sweeping three straight series in the process. Overall, the Aeros are 23-7 at Canal Park this season.

Carolina mows down Blue Rocks 12-1
The Mudcats' Tyler Cannon and Michael Goodnight shined in a 12-1 thumping of the Wilmington Blue Rocks on Thursday night at Daniel Frawley Stadium. The Mudcats (28-31) salavaged a split of the series with Wilmington (28-31) thanks to the win.

Wolters leads Mudcats to win over Blue Rocks
Tony Wolters plated three runs on three hits to help the Carolina Mudcats knock off the Wilmington Blue Rocks 5-2 on Wednesday night at Daniel Frawley Stadium. Will Roberts (3-2) held Wilmington (28-30) to two runs on six hits over six innings to pick up the win.

Rocks roll over Mudcats, 5-2
Sugar Ray Marimon scattered three hits over seven dominant innings as the Wilmington Blue Rocks beat the Carolina Mudcats 5-2 on Tuesday night at Daniel Frawley Stadium. Marimon (4-0) struck out five hitters, and allowed only one runner to reach third. The Blue Rocks improved to 28-29 while the Mudcats drop to 26-31.

Mudcats get soaked by Blue Rocks, 2-0
The Wilmington Blue Rocks took home a 2-0 win over the Carolina Mudcats on a soggy Monday night at Frawley Stadium. The game was called in the fifth inning due to unplayable field conditions. The Mudcats fall to 26-30, while the Blue Rocks improve to 27-29. Francisco Jimenez (5-3) was stuck with the loss after allowing two second inning runs. He gave up six hits, walked two and struck out one.

Three Captains named to All Star team
The Midwest League has announced their mid-season All Star teams and the Lake County Captains have three representatives on the Eastern Division squad. Francisco Lindor will be the starting shortstop on the squad and he will be joined by starting pitchers Cody Anderson and Joe Colon at the All Star game on June 19 at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark in Geneva, IL which is the home of the Kane County Cougars.

Mudcats shutout by Dash, 3-0
The Winston-Salem Dash blanked the Carolina Mudcats 3-0 behind a great start from Jake Petricka on Saturday night at BB&T Ballpark. A partisan crowd of 6,963 watched Petricka (4-4) deal seven scoreless for the Dash (33-21). He scattered three hits with six strikeouts.

Mudcats hooked by Dash, 8-7
The Winston-Salem Dash and Carolina Mudcats went back and forth all night, but the Dash had the final say in an 8-7 triumph at BB&T Ballpark on Friday night. A crowd of 5,524 saw the teams swap the lead four times throughout the night. Chris Bassitt (1-1) picked up the win in relief, despite allowing a two-run homer in the eighth. Shawn Armstrong (0-2) takes the heartbreaking loss after bringing the go-ahead run on a hit-by-pitch.

Clippers pummel chiefs 9-1
Columbus finished their four game series with Syracuse on a high note, parlaying a five run third and a four run fourth into a 9-1 triumph over the Chiefs. The Chiefs would be the first team to crack the scoreboard when Josh Johnson scored on a Mark Teahan RBI double to left. Columbus would then retaliate in the top of the third. Matt Pagnozzi walked to begin the frame.

For the second straight night, the Clippers put together another standout offensive performance as they held on for 9-6 victory over Syracuse.

Mudcats hooked by Keys, 7-2
The Frederick Keys plated seven runs over three innings, and defeated the Carolina Mudcats 7-2 in six-and-one-half innings on a soaking Wednesday night at Five County Stadium. The game was called with two on and no outs in the bottom of the seventh due to a steady downpour. Kyle Blair (1-1) was hit hard in relief for the Mudcats (22-23). Blair allowed seven runs on five hits, and walked a season-high five hitters in two-and-a-third innings.
