The Fort Wayne TinCaps (41-24) jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings en route to a 4-1 win over the Lake County Captains (21-42) on Thursday night. Fort Wayne took two out of three games to win the series. Right-hander Luis DeJesus made the start for the Captains as he took on righty Walker Weickel for the TinCaps.
The Lake County Captains (21-41) used a season-high 10 extra base hits on Wednesday night to break two different streaks while defeating the Fort Wayne TinCaps (40-24) by a final score of 11-0. Lake County snapped a seven-game losing streak while Fort Wayne broke a nine-game winning streak.
EASTLAKE, OH- The Lake County Captains (20-39) blew a four run lead in the ninth inning en route to a 7-6 loss in ten innings on Saturday night in front of 6,466 people at Classic Park. Lake County has dropped five straight games.
SOUTH BEND, IN- The South Bend Silver Hawks (42-17) used a four-run eighth inning to take a late 7-4 lead to sweep the Lake County Captains (20-38) on Friday night. Lake County has now lost four straight.
The South Bend Silver Hawks (41-17) swept the doubleheader from the Lake County Captains (20-37) on Thursday afternoon. South Bend won game one 6-1 and then they came back in game two to win 5-2. In game one, the Captains sent right-hander Jake Sisco to the mound to face right-hander Brandon Sinnery. In game two, Josh Martin made his first start of the year for Lake County. He was opposed by right-hander Blake Perry for South Bend.
The Lake County Captains (18-33) scored one run in the sixth inning and put them on the winning side of a 1-0 pitchers duel against the Dayton Dragons (23-31) on Friday night. With the win, Lake County has won three straight games for the first time in 2013.
The Lake County Captains (17-33) used two home runs in the first three innings to build a 5-0 lead en route to a 6-1 win on Thursday afternoon. Lake County won the final two games of the series to win their fourth series of the year. The Captains gave lefty Ryan Merritt the ball in the rubber game of the series as he took on right-hander Dylan Floro for the Hot Rods.
The Lake County Captains (16-33) managed a split of the doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon at Classic Park with the Bowling Green Hot Rods (30-22). The Hot Rods won game one 8-5 and the Captains walked off with a 6-5 win in the second game.
The Lansing Lugnuts (21-23) completed a sweep of the Lake County Captains (15-29) on Thursday night by a final score of 6-1. The Captains have lost four straight as the Lugnuts have won eight straight games. It was an all-lefty starter matchup as Ryan Merritt of the Captains faced Daniel Norris for the Lugnuts.
The Lansing Lugnuts (20-23) took an early lead and withheld a ninth-inning comeback by the Lake County Captains (15-28) to take the Wednesday morning game by a final score of 9-8 at Cooley Law School Stadium. Right-hander Luis DeJesus started his ninth game for the Captains and he opposed righty Ben White, who made his fifth start and tenth appearance for the Lugnuts.
The Fort Wayne Tincaps (24-15) scored two runs in the seventh inning and withheld a rally by the Lake County Captains (13-25) to take game one of the series on Friday night in front of 5,847 fans by a final score of 4-3.
BOWLING GREEN, KENTUCKY- The Lake County Captains (12-20) used two home runs and a two-hitter by the pitching staff to take game one over the Bowling Green Hot Rods (21-12) by a final score of 6-1 on Saturday night.
The Lake County Captains (8-16) came from behind late in both games to sweep the doubleheader from the Kane County Cougars (8-13) by a final score of 7-6 in the first game. Lake County won the nightcap 4-2.
The Lake County Captains (6-15) held a 4-3 lead heading into the ninth inning but could not close the game as the Clinton Lumberkings (9-10) scored two runs in the top of the ninth to win the game 5-4.
