Torii Hunter fell a single short of the cycle to lead the Detroit Tigers to a 9-4 win over the Cleveland Indians Saturday. Masterson, Indians roughed up by Tigers, lose 7-0
A sold out Progressive Field crowd was left wanting as the Cleveland lineup mustered no runs against Detroit starter Rick Porcello, as the Tigers beat the Indians 7-0 in the opener of a four-game series. The Tribe now trails the Tigers by 2.5 games in the American League Central, but still has a chance to move to the top of the standings with three more games against Detroit wrapping around the weekend.

Tribe rallies to beat White Sox 4-3
Cleveland first baseman Nick Swisher drove in the tie-breaking run for the second straight game as the Indians beat the Chicago White Sox for the third time in 24 hours on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Indians are now 43-38 and five games over .500, and now trail the Detroit Tigers by 1.5 games in the American League Central pending the decision in the Tigers-Rays game. After the Cleveland offense mounted a five-run comeback against Washington ace Jordan Zimmermann, the Tribe bullpen allowed lead-changing solo homers in the eighth and ninth as the Nationals beat the Indians 7-6. The Indians were unable to get lockdown performances from their bullpen mates, and on Sunday they will focus on starting a new streak.

Indians kickoff homestand with 2-1 walkoff win
Jason Kipnis hit a run-scoring fielder's choice in the bottom of the ninth that plated Drew Stubbs from third as the Cleveland Indians beat the Washington Nationals in the opener of a three-game series, 2-1. With the win, the Indians have now won three games in a row after losing eight in a row, and Tribe pitching has allowed two runs or fewer in all three games.

Jimenez leads Tribe to 5-0 win
The Cleveland Indians took the field Saturday for game two of their three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays only a mere 10 hours after game one had concluded. While there may have been concerns that the lack of sleep could have got to players, it certainly did not affect Tribe right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez, who pitched eight shutout innings to lead the Indians to a 5-0 win. While Jimenez provided the pitching, Jason Giambi took care of the offense as he drove in three runs for the Indians. Cleveland rallies in ninth to beat Seattle 5-4
After closer Chris Perez gave up back-to-back solo homers in the top of the ninth, the Tribe righted the ship in the bottom half, as Mark Reynolds hit a run-scoring fielder’s choice with the bases loaded as the Indians beat Seattle 5-4. The win is the team’s third in a row and improves their record to 19-7 over the past 26 games. The Tribe is at the top of the American League Central with a 24-17 record, holding a half-game lead over the Detroit Tigers. Join Nathan Kemp as he recaps the action from Saturday's win.
