Akron gets 3-2 walkoff win in 14th inning
The Akron Aeros broke through with a game-winning RBI-single by catcher Roberto Perez in the bottom of the 14th, as Akron beat the Bowie Baysox 3-2. With the win, Akron finished the homestand with a sweep of the Baysox (22-31). In the bottom of the 14th, Perez singled home right fielder Ben Copeland for the winning run.

House, Aeros shut down Baysox, 3-0
Lefty T.J. House and three Aeros relievers combined to throw a four-hit shutout Tuesday, as the Akron Aeros defeated the Bowie Baysox, 3-0, in the opener of a three-game series at Canal Park. Shortstop Ryan Rohlinger hit a two-RBI single in the second off Baysox starter Timothy Bascom (3-3, 4.12), giving the Aeros all the run support needed to win.

Aeros split doubleheader in Erie
The Erie SeaWolves used a late comeback in the second game of Monday’s doubleheader against the Akron Aeros, claiming a 4-3 win, and a split for the day. The Aeros won the first game, 4-0, as four Aeros pitchers combined to limit SeaWolves hitters to just three hits. The Aeros (29-19) completed an eight-game road trip with a 3-5 record.

Erie dominated Akron in 7-3 win
The Akron Aeros fell behind early and the Erie SeaWolves (24-23) added on often to beat Akron 7-3. Brett Brach struggled out of the gate, failing to keep runners off base in his three and two-thirds innings of work, and the Aeros lead in the Western Division fell to three games, with second-place Harrisburg breathing down their neck.

Miller, Thunder beat the Aeros, 4-3
Trenton first baseman Luke Murton singled home the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday night, sending the Akron Aeros to Erie with a 4-3 loss at Waterfront Park. Murton’s single to right center off Bryan Price allowed the Thunder (24-20) to gain a split in the four-game series with the Aeros (28-16).

Aeros slip past Thunder, 4-2
Center fielder Ben Copeland hit a bases-loaded triple in the sixth and T.J. House had another strong start as the Akron Aeros beat the Trenton Thunder 4-2. The Aeros jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first. Left fielder Tim Fedroff opened the game with a triple to left and scored two batters later on an RBI ground out by designated hitter Adam Abraham.

McFarland rolls again as Aeros sweep Richmond
T.J. McFarland pitched seven innings of one-run baseball to the lead the Akron Aeros (26-14) to a series sweep over the Richmond Flying Squirrels (20-23). McFarland (8-1, 1.79), won for the sixth straight start and leads the Eastern League in wins. He scattered 12 hits over his seven innings of work, allowing just one run while striking out six

Akron rolls over Richmond 15-5
The Akron Aeros (25-14) used a season-high eight-run fourth inning and five and one-third innings of one-run ball by starter Giovanni Soto to beat the Richmond Flying Squirrels (20-22) 15-5. The Aeros opened the game hot after posting a season-high 16 runs on Friday.

Goedert's two homers power Akron
Jared Goedert went 4-4 with two home runs, leading the Akron Aeros over the Erie SeaWolves 8-1. Goedert had his best game of the season, hitting three extra-base hits as the Aeros broke a season-long four game losing streak and ended Erie’s six game winning streak.

Aeros grounded by Harrisburg, 8-1
Akron starter Steven Wright left the game with a left foot injury and Harrisburg’s Danny Rosenbaum continued to dominate the Eastern League as the Aeros lost 8-1. Rosenbaum (5-0, 0.71) limited Akron base runners throughout the game, and only allowed a runner to advance to third base once.

McFarland sinks the Senators, 7-0
The Akron Aeros (22-9) opened the bottom half of the first inning with four runs and T.J. McFarland pitched seven shutout innings as the Aeros beat the Harrisburg Senators 7-0. After McFarland worked around two consecutive singles in the first inning, the Aeros hit four straight singles off Harrisburg starter Jeff Mandel. First baseman Chun Chen hit the fourth single, which was misplayed by Senators right fielder Destin Hood.

Wright throws five-hit shut-out
Knuckleballer Steven Wright pitched a five-hit shutout, leading the Akron Aeros to a 5-0 win over Bowie on Sunday. Wright (3-1, 1.13) continued to build on his strong start to the season, winning his third game of the year. He threw 112 pitches (64 strikes), allowing five hits and two walks while striking out six Baysox batters.

Akron's streak comes to an end in 7-3 loss
The Akron Aeros lost their home stand finale 7-3 after falling into a deep hole early in the game. Mason Radeke (1-1, 0.00) lost his first game after pitching three innings in a spot start. In the first, Radeke got two quick outs before walking B-Mets second baseman Reese Havens. The next runner reached on a fielding error by shortstop Juan Diaz. Both runners scored on a three-run home run by right fielder Raul Reyes to right center.

Soto, Aeros cruise to 8th straight win
Akron Aeros southpaw Giovanni Soto pitched seven masterful innings of one-run baseball on Wednesday, carrying the Aeros to a 3-1 win over the Binghamton Mets at Canal Park. The first-place Aeros (17-6) extended their winning streak to eight games. They have won all six games on the current home stand, and are 11-2 at home this season. Akron’s lead in the Eastern League Western Division stands at 4.5 games.

Aeros sweep marathon doubleheader
After a rainout on Saturday, the Akron Aeros swept a double header against Altoona, playing a total of 20 innings in the process. In the opening game, Eric Berger gave up two unearned runs courtesy of a throwing error and a wild pitch to give Altoona a second inning lead. He pitched four and two-thirds innings, giving up three hits and three walks while striking out two.

McFarland, Neal lead Aeros to 5-1 win
T.J. McFarland had another strong outing and right fielder Thomas Neal had three hits to lead the Akron Aeros to a 5-1 win over the Bowie Baysox on Tuesday. The Aeros lineup gave McFarland an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning off Bowie starter Cole McCurry, who lost his second game to Akron in less than a week. After recording two quick outs to start the game, McCurry gave up an opposite field home run to third baseman Jared Goedert. The home run was Goedert’s second of the season.

Aeros lose pitching duel to Bowie, 2-0
Three Bowie pitchers combined to shutout the Akron Aeros 2-0 on Monday, despite a strong start from left-hander Eric Berger. Baysox southpaw Jacob Petit (3-0) went five innings, giving up just three hits, to earn his second win over the Aeros in one week. Despite walking three batters, he limited base runners and worked out of his only jam in the second inning.

Guilmet blows first save in 4-3 loss to Reading
Despite leading 3-0 for seven and one-third innings, the Akron Aeros lost 4-3 in extra innings to the Reading Phillies after a rare implosion by the bullpen.Center fielder Tim Fedroff tripled to start the game against Reading, later scoring on a wild pitch by opposing starter Julio Rodriguez. After the wild pitch, first baseman Chun Chen walked and left fielder Nick Weglarz was hit by a pitch. The Aeros lineup failed to post another run in the first after second baseman Ryan Rohlinger struck out on a foul tip to the catcher.

Baysox get by Aeros, 4-2
Akron left-hander T.J. McFarland struggled to throw strikes and Aeros hitters failed to advance runners Tuesday night at Canal Park, as the home team fell to the Bowie Baysox 4-2. Bowie right fielder Buck Britton opened the game with a single and advanced to second on a throwing error by Akron shortstop Juan Diaz. After a ground out to third, Britton scored the game’s first run after a McFarland wild pitch. McFarland labored through the first inning, throwing 32 pitches (16 strikes).

Goedert powers Aeros to 8-5 victory
Jared Goedert hit a pinch hit three-run home run to left center field in the eighth inning and the Akron Aeros overcame an early four-run deficit to beat the Trenton Thunder 8-5 on Saturday. Akron has now won three in a row to clinch the first home series at Canal Park in 2012. After early struggles by starter Giovanni Soto, the Aeros lineup came alive after the third inning, as the team scored at least one run from the fourth to the eighth inning.
