Indians rout Houston 9-2 to maintain wild card possession
With a 9-2 victory over the Astros, the Indians swept their sixth four-game series of the season, becoming the first team to do so since the 1961 Yankees, a team that featured sluggers Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris and won the World Series. Indians jump on Astros early to win, keep lead in wildcard
The Indians began Saturday with a half-game lead over Texas for the second American League Wild Card spot and finished the day with the same lead thanks to Scott Kazmir who pitched seven shutout innings and Cleveland scored three runs in the first as the Indians beat the Houston Astros 4-1 Saturday night at Progressive Field.

Swisher's two blasts help complete another sweep of Sox
Nick Swisher homered from both sides of the plate and Asdrubal Cabrera went deep for the second game in a row as the Indians beat the Chicago White Sox 7-1 Sunday. The Tribe achieved a first by sweeping a four-game series of the White Sox for the third time in a season. Daisuke Matsuzaka kept his former team quiet over five and and two-thirds innings and Chris Perez gave up a tie-breaking RBI-double in the ninth, as the Mets beat the Indians 2-1 Sunday at Progressive Field. Cleveland entered the game trailing Tampa Bay by one game for the second wild card spot in the American League, but failed to capitalize.
