The Akron Aeros finished their four-game home series with a 2-1 loss to the Trenton Thunder on Sunday, dropping the Aeros to 6-3 on the season. Starting for the Aeros was left-hander Eric Berger, an eighth-round pick out of the University of Arizona in 2008. Berger spent last season in both Akron and Columbus, though his time with the Clippers was a bit rough as he posted a 10.05 ERA in just over 14 innings of work.
The Lake County Captains hosted the Bowling Green Hot Rods for the second game of their opening home stand on Friday evening, which resulted in a 2-1 loss. Starting for the Captains was Will Roberts, a right-hander out of the University of West Virginia. Roberts put together a solid six-inning start for a win in his last outing and despite the loss on Friday night he assembled another solid showing.
The Indians farm system was only 75% operational yesterday as Carolina had a scheduled day off, but both Lake County and Akron had their home openers and Columbus had an early day game before setting sail for an 11-game road trip. Last night T.J. McFarland, Alex Lavisky, Chad Huffman and more shined, and they as well as many others are featured in today's ATF!
The Lake County Captains topped off their three-game series with the Great Lakes Loons in an extra-inning 5-4 loss Wednesday afternoon. Great Lakes jumped on Lake County starter Felix Sterling early in the first inning. Designated hitter Jesus Alberto Arredondo laced a line-drive single to center and advanced to second when first baseman Joseph Winker reached on an error.
The Lake County Captains dropped the second game of their three-game series against the Great Lakes Loons on Tuesday night, 5-4. The Captains jumped on the board first as leadoff hitter center fielder LeVon Washington reached base on a bunt single and advanced to second on a throwing error by Great Lakes third baseman Jesse Bosnik. Washington moved to third on a groundout by shortstop Francisco Lindor and scored when designated hitter Alex Monsalve sent a single to right.
Another night of good action down on the Indians farm last night. Not only did all four affiliates win, but there were lots of very good performances by many Tribe prospects, namely lefty T.J. House, outfielder LeVon Washington, and outfielder Tim Fedroff. We recap their performances as well as several others in the daily ATF rundown.

Starting for Lake County was Elvis Araujo, a 20-year-old left-hander out of Venezuela. Araujo went four innings for the Captains, giving up three hits, two runs (one earned), and one walk while striking out seven TinCaps.

The Lake County Captains kicked off the 2012 season with a 4-3 win on the road against the Fort Wayne Tincaps on Thursday night. Taking the bump for Fort Wayne was Frank Garces. Garces went 6 strong innings, giving up 2 hits and no runs while striking out 9 Captains hitters. The Captains drew first blood as left fielder LeVon Washington led off with a walk. Shortstop Francisco Lindor reached base on a fielder’s choice before stealing second and reaching third on a passed ball. Lindor went on to score on another passed ball on Fort Wayne catcher Austin Hedges.

The Captains are going to be a lot of fun to watch in the early going as they boast the most talented roster of all the Indians' minor league affiliates, and arguably have one of the best rosters in all of minor league baseball based on sheer talent and potential.
