Behind the arm of the tall right-hander, Cleveland defeated the last place Twins, 5-2 to win for just the third time in their last 12 games at Target Field. The IBI's Jim Berdysz has the recap of an important Indians win.

Twins blank Tribe 3-0 as rookie Albers tosses a shutout
Hall of Fame manager Earl Weaver once said, “The key to winning baseball games is pitching, fundamentals and three run homers.” The Minnesota Twins had all three working Monday night, as great defense, brilliant pitching and three runs all coming via the home run easily shutout the Indians, 3-0. The IBI's Jim Berdysz recaps a frustrating loss for the Indians...

Second Thoughts Game #117: Angels 7, Indians 2
And they're free...free fallin'. Two runs and a season-high four errors would be all the struggling Tribe put across Saturday against Los Angeles, as they fell to their sixth straight loss, 7-2. With the offense in a deep freeze they can ill afford to play sloppy on defense, and that is exactly what happened Saturday night. The IBI's Jim Berdysz shares his second thoughts...

Tigers, Tribe battle 14 innings, Indians drop their third straight, 6-5

Indians bats go cold against Verlander, fall to Detroit 5-1
Fans don’t normally blurt out the name Don Kelly when thinking about the Detroit Tigers. Yet, for some reason, his name doesn’t resonate well with Tribe fans. Just like it was Monday, the Tigers did all of their damage in one inning. A five run fifth for the Tigers capped off by a three-run homer by Kelly was more than enough, as Detroit beat up Cleveland, 5-1.

Second Thoughts Game #111: Indians 2, Marlins 0
Another great pitching performance combined with a few timely hits was more than a good recipe for success Sunday, as the Tribe won the three-game series shutting out Miami, 2-0. Two runs was all the Indians offense needed as the team blanked the last place Marlins to improve to 6-9 all-time against them. Join IBI's Jim Berdysz as he shares his second thoughts on another Indians victory.

Second Thoughts Game #110: Indians 4, Marlins 3
It was a nail biter finish, but the Indians escaped and hung on to beat the Marlins 4-3 to win their first game in Miami since June 14, 2007 on Saturday. Zach McAllister had another strong performance for the Tribe while the offense was led by Jason Kipnis' bat and Michael Bourn's speed. Join the IBI's Jim Berdysz as he looks back at the contest and offers his Second Thoughts on what ended up being a very exciting Tribe win.

Indians net another walk-off victory, defeat Chicago 6-5 in extras
Resilience is defined as the ability to recover or adjust easily to misfortune or change. It wasn’t easy, but the Indians sure keep playing like it. Join Jim Berdysz as he recaps the action from Wednesday night.

Second Thoughts Game #104: Rangers 0, Indians 6
For the first time in 33 years, the Indians have swept the Texas Rangers in Cleveland. At the center of it all for the Tribe was another outstanding starting pitching performance, this time by right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez who went a dominant eight shutout innings against the Rangers offense surrendering just two hits while walking three and striking out six. Victory was the ninth in the last 13 ballgames for the streaking Tribe, and the IBI's Jim Berdysz shares his second thoughts on the win.

Second Thoughts Game #103: Indians 1, Rangers 0
The matchup had pitcher’s duel written all over it. In one corner, Indians ace and All-Star Justin Masterson came into the ballgame looking to match his career-high with 12 victories. In the other, Rangers ace and All-Star Yu Darvish led all of Major League Baseball in strikeouts. The two hard throwing right-handers lived up to the hype, as both teams combined for just one run on eight hits, as a home run by Tribe center fielder Michael Bourn was enough for Nasty Masty and the Tribe to edge by with the 1-0 victory. The IBI's Jim Berdysz shares his second thoughts on a great win for the Indians...

Indians left stunned again in Seattle, lose 4-3
It was just last season that Tribe starter Zach McAllister led the league in unearned runs. Making his first start since June 2, the right-hander received no help defensively again Tuesday night. Three more errors and lack run support proved more than a recipe for disaster, as the Indians fell one run short to the Seattle Mariners for the second straight night, 4-3.

Second Thoughts Game #98: Indians 7, Twins 1
It was almost a day for the record books for the hard throwing right-hander they call Nasty Masty. Indians starter Justin Masterson (11-7, 3.60 ERA) flirted with one of baseball’s most gratifying tasks—tossing a no-hitter. Masterson breezed by a full six innings of work without surrendering a hit to the Twins, but a bloop single by Brian Dozier to lead off the seventh ended his bid for history. The IBI's Jim Berdysz recaps the outing and a big Tribe win.

Second Thoughts Game #97: Twins 3, Indians 2
If you thought Friday night was a nightmare for the Indians, Saturday became the ugly sequel. After Cleveland jumped out to a 2-0 lead, Minnesota scored three unanswered runs for the second straight night to defeat the Tribe late, 3-2. Starting pitcher Corey Kluber looked sharp through his five innings of work, giving up no runs on just three hits, walking two and striking out seven, but left early with a minor injury. The IBI's Jim Berdysz shares his second thoughts on another tough loss.

Second Thoughts Game #95: Indians 6, Royals 4
Down 4-3 in the home half of the sixth, the Tribe scored three runs off Royals lefty Tim Collins to route Kansas City, 6-4 sweeping the three-game series. No hit was bigger than shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera’s two-run double off Collins in the inning, giving Cleveland the late lead it would not waiver. Join IBI's Jim Berdysz, as he give us his Second Thoughts...
