Acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays this off-season along with infielder Mike Aviles, catcher Yan Gomes has burst on the scene rather quickly with the Tribe in what has become his first full season in the big leagues. But before he came to Cleveland, before he stepped foot in a major league ballpark, he called the South American country of Brazil, home. The IBI's Jim Berdysz shares his "Road to the Show"...

The Tribe had a chance to sweep Minnesota out of town on Sunday, but the Twins had other ideas defeating Cleveland, 5-3. Rookie left-hander Pedro Hernandez kept hitters guessing for most of the ballgame as the Indians would tag him for just two runs on three hits through five innings, but the Indians were never able to breakthrough. The IBI's Jim Berdysz shares his second thoughts on the game...

More home cooking was in full effect for the Tribe on Saturday night as the Indians pushed by the Minnesota Twins for an 8-7 victory. The win increases Cleveland’s win streak to four straight now having won their last four series. Offensively, Cleveland hitters would walk a total of eight times, where six of them would come in the first inning against Twins starter P.J. Walters (2-3, 4.88 ERA).

Things did not look good early at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario, but just as they have been accustomed to all season long at Progressive Field, the Tribe would fight back. The Indians rallied from a three-run deficit in the bottom of the ninth inning to secure a 4-3 win over the Kansas City Royals. Join the IBI's Jim Berdysz as he recaps all the action from the Tribe's thrilling win.

Now that’s how you pitch! Indians starter Corey Kluber pitched the best game of his life on Sunday as the Tribe shutout Washington, 2-0 to take the three-game series. Pitching out of a bases loaded no out jam in the seventh inning and another two innings with runners on first and third and nobody out, Kluber earned every bit of that victory. The IBI's Jim Berdysz gives his second thoughts on the game...

For the Indians, Saturday was a tale of the bad, the good, and the ugly. Cleveland was left stunned on Saturday night as the Washington Nationals scored twice in the final two innings to secure a 7-6 victory over the Tribe. This came after the Indians offense battled their way back from a 5-0 deficit to be up 6-5 with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Jim Berdysz shares his second thoughts...

And then it was six. For the second straight game, the Indians' late rally was too little too late as the Tribe dropped their sixth in a row losing to Detroit 6-4. Cleveland also drops their 10th straight ballgame on the road away from Progressive Field. Neither the offense or Carlos Carrasco could get going, making it hard for the team to get a win. Join Jim Berdysz as he gives his Second Thoughts on Saturday's loss.

The road can be a dangerous thing. For the Indians so far in 2013, the road has proved to be just that. Cleveland dropped their eighth straight game away from Progressive Field on Wednesday, as the team was swept by the New York Yankees 6-4, now dropping 12 of their last 16 games. Join Jim Berdysz as he recaps all of Wednesday afternoon's action.

Sunday’s at Progressive Field haven’t been too good for the Indians this season, as the team dropped the rubber match against the Rays, 11-3. The Tribe is now just 1-3 on Sunday at home, averaging just three runs a ballgame over the four games. Three runs was all Cleveland would manage against Rays starter Jeremy Hellickson and starter Zach McAllister struggled for the first time this season. With no rain or any chance of rain delays in the forecast, the Indians got a much needed victory Saturday afternoon over Tampa Bay, as they shutout the Rays, 5-0. Ubaldo Jimenez (4-3, 4.83 ERA) looked sharp over his eight innings of work, allowing just one of his four hits in the ballgame for extra bases.

There have been some strange Cleveland Indians' games in the years, but perhaps few have been any stranger than what we saw Friday. After more than four hours of rain delays, the Cleveland Indians fell to the Tampa Bay Rays 9-2 Friday. The weather was not the only ugly thing about the contest either as the Indians mustered only one hit. Join the IBI's Jim Berdysz as he provides all the play-by-play and recaps the unforgettable night.

For eight innings, the Indians looked as though they could escape Boston with a series split. Then, the top of the ninth inning came along as did closer Chris Perez. It wasn’t the long ball that hurt Pure Rage on Sunday, but rather the strike zone. Perez just couldn’t find any of the four corners of the strike zone, blowing both the save and the game for Cleveland. The Red Sox scored four runs off the closer in the inning, in route to a devastating 6-5 loss for the Tribe.

Recently winning 18 of their last 22 ballgames, the Tribe is now 1-4 in their last five games and just 1-5 in six games against Boston this season. Just as the rain fell Wednesday night, so did the Tribe Thursday morning. After nine innings and two rain delays totaling one hour 50 minutes, the Detroit Tigers took down the Tribe 11-7, sweeping the two-game series at Progressive Field. Having won 18 of 22 coming into the highly anticipated matchup, Motown made quick work of Cleveland outscoring them 16-8 in the series.

There have been plenty of good nights for the Cleveland Indians as of late but unfortunately Tuesday was not one of them. The Tribe mustered only three hits and fell 5-1 to the Detroit Tigers. Max Scherzer did his best Justin Verlander impression, and the Indians' offense was stymied all night. Join Jim Berdysz as he looks back at all the action after the jump...
