As the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Cleveland snapped their six-game winning streak Sunday afternoon as they fell to the Minnesota Twins, 4-2. Tribe bats cooled off considerably as the team was blanked by a strong pitching performance from Twins starter Mike Pelfrey (3-3, 6.35 ERA). Indians starter Corey Kluber (2-1, 3.06 ERA) worked out of some early trouble to surrender three runs on five hits in 5 2/3 innings, but the solid effort was not enough.

The Cleveland Indians are heating up, both at the plate and on the mound. That was showcased last night as Scott Kazmir and the bullpen held the Minnesota Twins to three runs, while the offense put seven on the board. It's only May, but the Indians certainly look like a team that others will have to contend with. Join Jim "The Berd Man" Berdysz as he gives his Second Thoughts on Saturday Night's game.

With a forecast that called for a potential Bauer outage, there was no short of electricity in the air at Progressive Field on Wednesday. The Indians offense powered their way to their fourth straight win as they shutout the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-0 to complete the two-game series sweep. In a matchup that featured former Tribe lefty Cliff Lee in one corner and Indians top prospect Trevor Bauer in the other, the past essentially met the future. Join Jim Berdysz as recaps Cleveland's 6-0 win.

So much for that lack of offense, right? The Indians exploded for seven home runs as they earned a 14-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies Tuesday. The offense was not the only part of the team that impressed though as Zach McAllister pitched seven strong innings while only allowing two runs. Jojn the IBI's Jim Berdysz as he recaps all of the night's action from what proved to be a very memorable Tribe win.

It was a tale of two completely different ballgames on Sunday, as the Indians split a day-night doubleheader with the first place Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium. The Indians were ice cold again in the first game as the Royals trounced them 9-0, but the Indians came back in the second game and pounded the Royals 10-3. The IBI's Jim Berdysz shares his "second thoughts" on the doubleheader.

They say pitching is the key to winning in baseball. But there also is another key saying that should go along with that: you can’t win if you can’t score. This was exactly the case again for the Cleveland Indians on Saturday night as they fell to the first place Kansas City Royals, 3-2. The IBI's Jim Berdysz shares his second thoughts on the game...

Just as this offensive roller coaster looked to be on its way up, things took another dive for the Indians on Wednesday, as they fell to their division rival Chicago White Sox, 3-2. For the second time in less than two weeks, Tribe bats were silenced by another stellar pitching performance by Chicago left-hander Jose Quintana. The White Sox starter limited the team to just two runs on four hits through five innings, ending Cleveland’s three game winning streak. The Indians came in Sunday's game against the Houston Astros needing a win to take the series. Enter Mark Reynolds, with the bat and with the glove at third base, as the Indians took the game and the series. Join Jim Berdysz for his Sunday Second Thoughts...

Finally! After a dismal stretch of baseball that left the Tribe in search of any offense, the bats rang loud in the heart of Texas as Cleveland toppled Houston, 19-6 ending their five game losing streak. Astros starter Philip Humber would record just one out in the first inning before yielding eight runs on eight hits in 1/3 of an inning on Saturday. It was the first time in the last five days that the Tribe not only scored first, but led a ballgame.

Frustrating is one way to put it. Baffling could be another. Offensive woes continued for the Tribe Friday night, as Houston starter Lucas Harrell and the Astros edged out Cleveland to a 3-2 victory, sending the Indians to a season-high five game losing streak.

Boston swept the field clean from any Tribe offense for the third straight game on Thursday, as the Red Sox brought out their booms defeating the Indians 6-2 to complete the series sweep. Still carrying heavy hearts, the Boston Red Sox also carried with them a heavy dose of offense for the second straight game, as they defeated the Tribe Wednesday night, 6-3. Coming into the ballgame with a 19 scoreless inning streak, Indians starter Justin Masterson came down from his early season dominance as the right-hander suffered his first loss of the season. The Tribe bats were iced by a great pitching performance by White Sox right hander Jake Peavy on Sunday, as the Wahoo’s fell to Chicago 3-1. In the loss, Cleveland wasted a solid pitching performance by Brett Myers, who rebounded off his first two outings giving up just two earned runs on six hits through six innings of work.

The revitalized starting pitching has carried them far in the series against the White Sox, and they'll look to sweep in Sunday's tilt at Progressive Field. The Indians lost a rough one to the Rays on Saturday night by a score of 6-0. They were shut out for the second straight game, Trevor Bauer really struggled with his control, and Lou Marson took a shot at home plate that he is still probably recovering from this morning. The IBI's Jim Berdysz chimes in with his "Second Thoughts" on last night's ugly loss.
