Aeros lose third straight, falling to Thunder 5-3
The Akron Aeros lost the series opener to the Trenton Thunder 5-3 at Arm & Hammer Park Monday night, giving the team their third straight loss. The Aeros are now 3-8 on the season and have lost five out of their last six games. Baseball took a backseat Monday after the tragic events in Boston, though. Donate blood. Donate money. Donate time. Keep the victims and heroes in your thoughts and prayers. Do whatever you want, but some things are more important than baseball.

Poor pitching and defense lead to Aeros' 9-5 loss
Akron pitchers continued their collective inability to prevent runs Sunday as the Akron Aeros lost 9-5 to the Bowie Baysox at Prince George's Stadium. The Baysox took three of the four games in the series while averaging seven runs per game. The Aeros have allowed 59 runs through 10 games, setting a pace that is nearly impossible for the offense to keep up with. The defending Eastern League champions have now lost seven of their first 10 games as they simply cannot keep opposing teams off the scoreboard.

Pitching falters again as Aeros fall 7-6
A terrible illness seems to be seeping down from the big league club and infecting the pitchers on the Akron Aeros' staff. Akron fell to the Bowie Baysox at Prince George's Stadium 7-6 after the team gave up seven runs for the second consecutive night. The Aeros have allowed 50 runs in nine games on the season -- a shocking 5.56 runs per game -- the key reason for their slow 3-6 start.

Around The Farm: April 10, 2013
There was plenty of rain throughout the region Wednesday night, forcing cancellations for Cleveland, Akron, and Lake County. Luckily for the Mudcats and Clippers -- and Bryson Myles, Francisco Lindor, and Tyler Naquin -- they avoided the weather and got their games in. Join Jim Piascik for a slightly shortened Around The Farm, after the jump.

Launching Off With The Aeros: 4/4/13-4/8/13
The return of baseball means the return of everyone's favorite Akron Aeros notebook, Launching Off With The Aeros. The Aeros got off to a rough start but rounded into form as the week rolled along. To see who led the way for Akron (spoiler alert: it was and always will be Jose Ramirez) and everything you need to know about the Aeros, check out Launching Off With The Aeros... after the jump.

Aeros avoid sweep with 13-3 blowout win over B-Mets
The Akron Aeros finally got their first win of the 2013 season Sunday afternoon, avoiding a four-game sweep with a 13-3 blowout of the Binghamton Mets at Canal Park. Akron's bats finally woke up after only scoring seven runs in their first three games, erupting for 13 runs on 15 hits. Manager Edwin Rodriguez was happy to see the offense appear while avoiding a sweep to start the season.

Aguilar, Latimore go deep in Aeros' 7-5 loss to Mets
The Akron Aeros and the Binghamton Mets both broke out of their offensive slumps Saturday afternoon, but unfortunately for the home team, the Mets broke out a little bit more. The Aeros suffered their first 0-3 start to a season since 1997 as Akron fell to Binghamton 7-5 at Canal Park. The B-Mets hit the ball hard all day and busted out for 14 hits and seven runs after starting the year with consecutive 2-1 wins.

Aeros struggle again on offense in 2-1 loss to Mets
The Akron Aeros experienced déjà vu Thursday, falling to the Binghamton Mets 2-1 for the second consecutive night at Canal Park. Once again, Akron's bats were quiet, combining to go 6-for-31 with four walks and 11 strikeouts. The team is now 11-for-63 with 21 strikeouts on the year, but manager Edwin Rodriguez is not worried just yet with the slow start.

Offense struggles as Mets top Aeros 2-1
The Akron Aeros dropped their season opener at Canal Park 2-1 to the Binghamton Mets. Highly-touted right-handed starter Danny Salazar went five innings, striking out five, walking two, and allowing two hits, and second baseman Jose Ramirez had two hits in the loss.

Ranking the 2013 Cleveland Indians’ Roster
With baseball underway once again, Jim Piascik undertakes the task of ranking the Cleveland 25-man roster. Such rankings are fairly fluid, but Jim writes about each player and justifies their position. Who is ranked first? Who is ranked last? Who is ranked as perfectly average? Does Jim still hate relievers? The answers to all your questions can be found after the jump...
