Round 1 of the heavyweight battle between the two main contenders in the AL Central went to the Indians last night as they beat the Detroit Tigers by a score of 5-3. Ubaldo Jimenez dodged and weaved all night and got a win, but it was yet another dominant performance from the bullpen and some patient, timely hitting that led to another Indians win.

The Indians welcomed old friend Eric Wedge and his Seattle Mariners to Progressive Field last night, and pounded Mariners' starter Felix Hernandez and the rest of the Mariners staff for 9 runs and 14 hits in a 9-3 Indians win. Charlie Adams gives his "second thoughts" on Ubaldo Jimenez's solid outing, the Tribe's approach at the plate against King Felix, and lots more!

The Indians won 5-0 on Tuesday afternoon in Minnesota and swept the mini-two game series from the Twins. Derek Lowe was at his best with a complete game shutout and the offense gave him just enough support. The Indians were beat pretty good by the White Sox last night 8-1. The game was over early when the White Sox put up a 6-spot in the fourth inning, and with the red hot Jake Peavy pitching, the game was essentially over. Before the Indians move on to Boston today for the start of a four-game series, Charlie Adams has some "second thoughts" on last night's game.

The Indians had trouble all night against John Danks and Justin Masterson struggled with his command, but through it all the Indians managed to stay in the game to give themselves a chance to tie it late (they did) before they ultimately lost in extra innings 5-3 to their AL Central rival the Chicago White Sox. The Indians evened up their three game series with the White Sox on Wednesday night, and today will go for two in a row and take the rubber match. Last night the Indians got big knocks from Carlos Santana and Travis Hafner, Josh Tomlin was steady, and the bullpen continues to be the strength of the team. Well, that was ugly. Chris Sale was tough on the Indians again as he and the rest of the White Sox' staff held the Indians to 2 runs, their 8th straight game scoring 4 runs or less as well as 16 of 21 games. On top of that, Ubaldo Jimenez was a train wreck and the defense was brutal. All of that is a recipe for a bad loss, which Charlie Adams' gives his "second thoughts" on.

The Indians lost 8-2 last night and in the process allowed the Royals to end their 12-game losing streak and also lose a chance to take sole possession of first place in the AL Central. The Indians are known to have a left-leaning lineup, but how much can this me mitigated and how much will this really hurt them? Through effective management of the hitters available to him, Manny Acta could put together a successful lineup that not only scores more runs, but also potentially "fresh" and off the DL.

A lot of people are unimpressed with the improvements the Indians made to the lineup this offseason, but Charlie Adams says that the numbers show that the Indians could have one of the better lineups in baseball this season if luck comes in the form of health and maturation.
