2013 Draft: Top 7 Profiles and an early mock
We are roughly eight months away from the 2013 Draft, but with the Indians securing the #5 pick in the draft next year IPI draft guru Jeff Ellis put together an early piece profiling the top seven players at the moment that are available in next year's draft. Things will certainly change with that top listing, but several of these players could be options for the Indians as they look to add more talent to an already improving farm system.

Second Thoughts: Game 159 Indians 15 Royals 3
The Indians seem to own Sundays over the past few weeks, and yesterday wasn't any different as the Indians hammered the Kansas City Royals and Luke Hochevar by a score of 15-3. As the season enters its last week, Cleveland is showing some spark under the stewardship of Sandy Alomar, and Jeff Ellis provides some of his thoughts from the game.

A red-hot debate: A comparison of Indians and Reds pitchers
A few weeks ago Jeff Ellis compared the Indians to the Reds hitter by hitter and using the highest ranking that player had achieved on Baseball America's top 100 list he tried to decipher if there was a rhyme or reason to prospect failure. This time around he looks at the pitchers for the Indians and Reds and uncovers several interesting things while coming to an obvious conclusion.

A red-hot debate: A comparison of Indians and Reds hitters
There's a lot of similarities between the Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds. Both are in-state rivals, and both teams use a similar economic model. Yet, despite the similarities, both teams have had very difficult results this season as the Indians have experienced an immense downward spiral while the Reds sit atop the standings as one of baseball's elite. In his latest, Jeff Ellis provides an in-depth look at both teams, using previous Baseball America rankings, to show just how much better the Reds really are.

A look back at Baseball America's 2009 Top 100 list
With the recent acquisition of Lars Anderson from the Red Sox, the Indians have stockpiled an amazing nine players from Baseball America's 2009 Top 100 prospect listing. But not all nine of those players have panned out and it just goes to show that prospects, even the highly touted ones, are simply just lottery tickets. Jeff Ellis breaks down all nine players in his latest.

Second Thoughts: Game #108 Tigers 10, Indians 8
There is really not a lot more that can be said about the Indians fall of late. It has been rough to watch, and has really made a lot of people question the Tribe. I think the biggest non story that this rough stretch has brought to my attention has been how Jason Kipnis has been awful since May. He was merely below average in June, but has been horrid since then.

Second Thoughts: Game #41 Marlins 5, Indians 3
The Indians were looking to win the rubber match of their series against the Miami Marlins, and they had their de facto ace, Derek Lowe on the hill. Thanks to an offense that couldn't get it done, and a bullpen that saw it's fringe relievers struggle, the Marlins and Ozzie Guillen took the series with a 5-3 win. Jeff gives his "Second Thoughts," as he does every Sunday...

The Curious Case of Cliffton Lee
In a span of twelve months from July 2009 to July 2010, lefty Cliff Lee was traded three times. First the Indians sent the reigning Cy Young winner to the Phillies, then the Phillies sent him to Seattle in the offseason, and then Seattle sent him to Texas in July. Jeff Ellis compares all three trades and makes his case for who got the best deal, and he also gives his winners on the deals.

Second Thoughts: Game#34 - Indians 1, Red Sox 12
The Indians were looking to split a four-game series in Boston, and coming off of Thursday night's big win vs. Josh Beckett, it looked like another road series win for the Indians. After today's 12-1 loss, the Indians are now on a three-game losing streak, with two struggling "aces," and an offense that has little answers. Jeff Ellis gives us his Second Thoughts on the Indians debacle from Sunday afternoon's ballgame.

We need to talk about our record of attendance
Jeff Ellis is not happy. The Indians are 17-13, in first place, and just took a series over the weekend against the best team in the American League the last three years....yet no one is showing up for the games as the Indians are dead last in all of baseball in attendance. And by a LARGE margin. Jeff opines on the situation and why support goes hand-in-hand with fielding a competitive team.

Second Thoughts: Game 26 - Indians 4, Rangers 2
The battle of first place teams concluded today with the Indians and Ubaldo Jimenez coming out on top, 4-2. Perhaps it's time for some folks to start taking the Indians a bit more seriously, as they maintained their 1 1/2 game lead on the Tigers for first place in the A.L. Central. Jeff returns to give his Second Thoughts on the Indians' Sunday afternoon tilt.
