The Cleveland Indians embark on an important offseason today, as they look to build upon their incredulous journey from baseball obscurity to the playoffs in 2013. While many are focusing on the potential free agents and trade candidates out of the gate, the reality is that the Indians won't make any major moves until their own free agents are addressed. Do the Indians have their RubberDucks in row, and will they make the right moves? Join Jim Pete at the Corner of Carnegie and Ontario, as we take a close look.

The Cleveland Indians head into the 2013-2014 offseason with free-agent questions looming in front of them. Before Chris Antonetti and Terry Francona can answer those questions, they need to figure out just how much money they'll have to play with to potentially sign their internal free agents, before looking elsewhere next month. Join Jim Pete as he takes an early look at the Indians money situation heading into 2014, as well as some other internal player questions they'll need to answer in the coming weeks.

The Cleveland Indians are putting their 2013 season behind them, and while the 92-win season was a massive improvement from the 2012 debacle, this team is just getting started. What will the Indians do in 2014? Will they trade Asdrubal Cabrera? Will they sign Ubaldo Jimenez? Will they sign Asdrubal Cabrera? Will they fix Trevor Bauer? Will Jose Ramirez start the year off in Cleveland, and where? Join Jim Pete as ponders what may happen in 2014.

The Cleveland Indians are facing an extremely difficult offseason in which both Ubaldo Jimenez and Scott Kazmir are entering free agency. Obviously, both pitchers rounded into a form that is reminiscent of their dominant years with both Colorado and Tampa Bay. The question is, do you sign both pitchers, or do you have to temper your offers based on the simple fact that Justin Masterson is a free agent in 2014? Join Jim Pete for this week's power poll.

Hattery and Pete talk all things wildcard, including what to make of the Indians line-up, should Jason Giambi start, the matchup between Salazar vs. Cobb (and why Salazar is truly elite), the Indians line-up and roster choices, why Carlos Santana at #4 and #5 in the order may prove to be key players offensively for the Indians, how Jason Kipnis could be the breakout star, why Michael loves Lonnie Chisenhall, and who will ultimately win this ballgame.

The Cleveland Indians will play past the final day of the regular season. In the last week of the season, manager Terry Francona "demoted" Chris Perez from the role of closer, focusing instead on a "bullpen by committee." While that seemed to answer the Perez questions in close games, what does that mean for Perez and the Indians in the immediate future? Join Jim Pete with this week's IBI Power Poll.

In one five minute span of baseball, the Cleveland Indians went from the high of being three outs away from winning their fifth game in a row, to giving up a ninth inning lead and watching the Astros fall behind the Rangers. Another Cleveland implosion. Then something funny happened. Jason Giambi stepped up to the plate and launched the biggest home run at Progressive Field in recent memory...and the Indians won. Join Jim Pete as he looks at the two players that put the entire town in their own personal roller coaster.

The Cleveland Indians aren't glitz, and they certainly aren't glamor. This team is built around a group of players that are even-keeled, even-tempered and share similar skills and abilities. This week, Jim Pete talks about how this team is the epitome of that term, and how their win in game two showcased just how this team can look very, very good, and very very bad, all at the same time. Is it good enough to make the playoffs? Find out in this week's Corner of Carnegie and Ontario...

The Cleveland Browns have put up 16 points on the season. For those counting at home, that surely isn't a lot. While some of that can be attributed to Josh Gordon's suspension, much of that has to do with just a bad offense.Michael Hattery and Jim Pete will talk Browns football, but also dive into the Indians once again climbing from the ashes by dominating the hapless Chicago White Sox. Join Jim and Mike for your weekly dose of Cleveland Sports Talk, at 9:00!!!

The Indians may be running into a buzz saw in the form of the Kansas City Royals, who has a nice mix of solid starting pitching, a trending offense and a tough-as-nails bullpen. While many Tribe fans point to the Indians potentially catching playoff lightning in a bottle, it's the Royals who seem to be coming together at the right time. All is not lost though, as the eternal optimist, Jim Pete, takes a look through Royal blue sunglasses from his perch at the Corner of Carnegie and Ontario.

It's been a very "developmental" year in Carolina, and while the Mudcats weren't a winning ballclub with regards to wins and losses, they sure did have a boatload of offensive talent come through Five County Stadium. Was the season a successful one? It depends on what your definition is for success? If you're an Indians fan looking for a bank of players, Carolina was the place to be. Join Jim Pete for one last fishing expedition for the 2013 season.

The Cleveland Browns are facing off against the Miami Dolphins today, but that will take a backseat to the Cleveland Indians quest to swallow up the Tampa Bay Rays in the wildcard hunt. The Indians have 22 games to go to prove themselves worthy of a playoff spot, and that starts today with Messing with Salazar, episode 7. We'll jump into the Indians quest, and talk Browns football. Ubaldo Jimenez. Just saying the name for me brings up a small dose of bile in my throat. You know the guy I'm talking about. He's the former Rockies' ace that threw a no-hitter, and hit 96 at will with his 12 different pitches. He's just not that guy anymore, and perhaps that's not a bad thing at all. Join Jim Pete at the Corner of Carnegie and Ontario as he tries to rationalize Ubaldo Jimenez for the pitcher he is, and not the pitcher he was.
