Around the Farm: April 23, 2012
Don't look now, but Nick Weglarz is starting to hit the ball a little, while Luigi Rodriguez continues to showcase some raw ability at the plate. Today's top spot in Around the Farm goes to a former sixth round pick that has some reminiscing about Kirby Puckett. Jim Pete brings today's ATF for yesterday's top performances.

Clearing the Bases: Game #14 - Indians 1, A's 5
The Indians were trying to run up an 8-1 record on their current road trip, before heading home for a weekday, three-game series with the vaunted Los Angeles Angels. Unfortunately, the worst line-up in the history of baseball (not theirs) failed to do much of anything, while a struggling Justin Masterson turned into a walk machine. Jim Pete runs through his in-game thoughts with today recap.

Around the Farm: April 22, 2012
There was rain, snow and sleet on the horizon, Carolina and Akron found themselves with the day off after their games were postponed. In this abbreviated edition of ATF, which lefty starter just might be emerging as the best in the system? Jim Pete returns to the ATF grind for updates on Cord Phelps' 14-game hitting streak, as well as a former starter, turned back-end reliever Kyle Blair.

Toledo takes first place with a victory over Columbus, 8-3
The Toledo Mud Hens poured it on starter Corey Kluber Sunday afternoon, as they defeated the Clippers 8-3, moving them into first place in the International League West division. A familiar face got the ball rolling for the Mud Hens in the bottom of the second inning, when Jerad Head doubled into left field against his former teammates. Audy Ciriaco then followed it up with a two-run blast, and Toledo never looked back.

Clearing the Bases: Game #12: Indians 4, A's 3
The Indians beat the Athletics on Friday night by a score of 4-3 and remain red hot by winning six of their last seven games and are currently 6-1 on their nine-game west coast road trip. Jim Pete chimes in with some thoughts on last night's game with his running diary of the action as it happened.

Fishing for Mudcats: "It's still the road that never ends..."
The first week of the season brought an offensive onslaught that was unfamiliar to many frequent visitors to the Carolina League. Enter week two, which for the Mudcats, was a rough re-introduction to the pitching heavy league. Jim Pete returns with his weekly dose of 'Fishing for Mudcats,' the weekly Carolina Mudcats' notebook.

Around the Farm - April 17, 2012
Chun-Hsiu Chen is finally starting to stretch his legs a bit as the Aeros new first baseman, but today's ATF headliner is a former top draft pick of the San Diego Padres, that has turned into a strikeout artist for the Columbus Clippers this season. Check out IPI's original Around the Farm for yesterday's minor league performances.

Around the Farm: April 16, 2012
Adam Abraham is starting to see his hard work pay off in Akron, while Trevor Crowe continues to annoy those that demand he not be mentioned in the same breath of the Indians. Tonight's top spot goes to perhaps the top prospect in the organization right now. Check out IPI's original Around the Farm, our daily look at the minor league performances at every level.

Around the Farm - April 15, 2012
Alex Lavisky keeps lighting up Midwest League pitching like a pinball machine and Luigi Rodriguez continues to showcase five-tool talent, but the ATF star of the day is a corner outfielder that exploded on the scene last year with Mahoning Valley that you may not know about. Tune in to IPI's original Around the Farm for yesterday's minor league performances, after the jump.

Around the Farm - April 14, 2012
ATF is loaded with "Remember Me's" tonight. The first guy almost took over second base last year for the Tribe, and no, I'm not talking about Jason Kipnis either. The top ATF slot belongs to a reliever who missed the entire 2010 season before dominating the Carolina League in 2011. Check out IPI's original Around the Farm, for yesterday's minor league performances.

The anatomy of the Johnny Damon deal
The Cleveland Indians have apparently signed free agent Johnny Damon to a one-year contract as a stop-gap measure to a struggling offense. While many see this as a reactionary deal, the road to signing Johnny Damon actually began last July, when the Indians first tried to address their offensive issues. Here's a look at the path to Johnny Damon.

Fishing for Mudcats: "If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score?"
The Carolina Mudcats are full of potential. This scrappy and talented bunch just might be as good as Lake County. Jim Pete starts a new season with Fishing for Mudcats, the weekly Carolina Mudcat notebook.

Around the Farm: April 10, 2012
Lonnie Chisenhall amps up his offense in Columbus, while Rob Bryson showcases one of the best bullpen arms in baseball. Another prospect finds himself at the top of ATF once again, profiling perhaps the best talent in the system. Jim Pete brings a spring, wintry mix at yesterday's minor league performances.

Santana signs multi-year extension, so who's next?
The Indians have reportedly signed catcher Carlos Santana and will announce the deal some time on Tuesday. The multi-year deal will lock him up through his arbitration years and possibly buy out one or two years of free agency. With Santana and Asdrubal Cabrera in the fold, who will the Indians target next?

Around the Farm: April 8, 2012
Scotty Barnes showcased why HE should be getting the next call-up to the big league level, while Jeremie Tice showed off some of his previously hidden power. The best of the bunch is a creator of havoc on the basepaths, and was on base five times tonight. Jim Pete gives a "green jacket" look at yesterday's minor league performances.

Around the Farm: April 7, 2012
Francisco Lindor tops off his first ATF, with Matt LaPorta joining him with some big-time lumber in Columbus. But the Easter Bunny brought special treats to a starting pitcher that struggled for the Clippers in 2011. Jim Pete hops along the ATF bunny trail with an in-depth look at yesterday's minor league performances.
