Indians crush Clippers, 13-3
COLUMBUS- There is a popular saying in baseball, “You live and die on the long ball.” In the Columbus Clippers case Sunday, they definitely died by it. Led by seven homeruns, the Indianapolis Indians routed the Clippers in a 13-3 affair on Sunday.

Fishing for Mudcats: Tyler Naquin takes over...
The first half of the Carolina League season has turned into an observance of players rather than team. While the Muddies have several interesting prospects, none seem to be able to drive in or score enough runs to win ball games. Still, there are several intriguing players, and former top pick Tyler Naquin has been taking center stage. Go fishin' with Jim Pete as he details the Muddies week that was.

Around the Farm: June 1, 2013
The first day of June brought several interesting performances by Cleveland Indians prospects. Lonnie Chisenhall doesn't appear to be all that enthused about being back in the minors, and is trying to do something about it. Cord Phelps is another player that tasted the big leagues in 2013, but seems to be going in another direction. Join Jim Pete for Saturday's ATF to find out about Chis, Phelps, and a whole lot more.

Indians call up right-hander Matt Langwell
The Cleveland Indians selected the contract of righty reliever Matt Langwell from Triple A Columbus. In conjunction with the Langwell call-up, lefty Scott Barnes was optioned back to Columbus after getting roughed up during Friday night’s/Saturday morning’s rain delayed game.

Needing relief at the Corner of Carnegie and Ontario
The Indians have been an interesting team in 2013. Initially, the starting rotation faltered, and the offense struggled to score runs with consistency. But the bullpen was solid. Then, the offense started clicking, and so did the starters. The bullpen remained solid. Now, the starters are consistent, while the offense has scuffled here and there, and the bullpen is struggling. Join Jim Pete at the Corner of Carnegie and Ontario as he looks at the bullpen...

Around the Farm: May 26, 2013
The Indians organization certainly didn't head into Memorial Day on Monday with a positive vibe on Sunday. Every team, from Lake County to Cleveland fell into the losing column on Sunday afternoon. There were some intriguing performances though, as a couple of good starting pitching prospects had nice outings. Join Jim Pete with the pre-Memorial Day edition of ATF.

Bauer & Carrasco at the Corner of Carnegie and Ontario
Enough with the kids' gloves with regards to Trevor Bauer and Carlos Carrasco. The time to get these kids into the rotation is now, and not later. This new version of the Indians is standing at a precipice that they've been at in both 2011 and 2012. Jim Pete takes a look at why the Indians should bring these kids up sooner, rather than later. He also opines about why this team may just be a contender, and ponders the importance of Ubaldo Jimenez vs. Justin Verlander tonight...

Around the Farm: May 20, 2013
There are players every year that seem to come out of the woodwork to become good-to-great prospects. The first guy that comes to mind is Jose Ramirez last season. Ramirez struggled tonight, but the guy at the top of ATF is someone who's surprising this year, and has surprised in the past as well. Join Jim Pete, as he winds us through the daily baseball tidings in Monday's ATF.

Around the Farm: May 19, 2013
The night was chalk full of top prospects, as Trevor Bauer, Jose Ramirez, #Washtime, Tyler Naquin, Francisco Lindor, Jordan Smith, and Tony Wolters, all made news for one reason or another during the Sunday games. Two players off that list made the top three in tonight's ATF. Which two? Join Jim Pete as he takes you on a trip through the Tribe's organization.

Five-run fifth powers Clippers past RailRiders 10-4
The Columbus Clippers exploded for five runs in the bottom of the fifth to topple the Scranton/WB 10-4 at Huntington Park Sunday.
After being down 3-0 from the get-go, the Clippers battled back to take a commanding lead.

Cleveland Sports Insiders 2.5: Indians ARE that good
Join Jim Pete and Steve Orbanek tonight at 9:00 for another edition of Cleveland Sports Insider, as the two avid watchers of General McLane athletics and Cleveland Indians baseball start their scoreboard watching early. Their topics of conversation will focus on your Cleveland Indians, who wrapped up their week with a dominating 6-0 victory over the Seattle Mariners and former Cy Young Award winner Felix Hernandez. Their 6-0 shutout victory was their seventh of the season, which matched their win total against former Cy Young winners as well. The Indians improved to 7-1 against Cy Young winners, and the CSI boys will surely mention this five to six thousand times, to match twitter.
