Around the Farm: May 7, 2012
I'm officially sick of the rain. The Columbus Clippers and the Akron Aeros were both rained out tonight. Combine that with a scheduled off day for the Mudcats, and you have all of one game today in the system. So, call this your Lake County Captains special edition. Tonight's headliner is a long way from the majors, but has the potential to be an important part of the rotation in a few years. Bring out your umbrella, and check out yesterday's MASSIVE list of minor league happenings after the jump...

So, there's this kid named Lindor. Has anyone heard of him? And what about this Goedert kid in Akron? Rumor has it that he can hit the baseball on occasion. While those unknowns made the top three of Sunday Night's ATF, the headliner is an actual surprise. Oh, I'm sure many of you have heard of him, but most haven't paid attention. Check out these fine Indians' prospects, as well as many more...after the jump...

Zach McAllister called up to start in Monday Doubleheader
Zach McAllister will make his first start for the Cleveland Indians during their Monday doubleheader. The Indians will use a new rule in the collective bargaining agreement that will allow them to carry 26 players on their roster for the duration of the doubleheader. Find out more on McAllister, after the jump...

Indians acquire 7'1" reliever, Loek Van Mil
The Cleveland Indians acquired the tallest player in the major leagues on Saturday, the 7'1" right-handed reliever, Loek Van Mil. The Indians made the deal for "future considerations." Reports are rampant that those considerations will ultimately be cash.
Mil is a 27-year-old righty from the Neatherlands, who was signed by the Minnesota Twins as a non-drafted free agent way back in 2005. In...

Around the Farm: May 5, 2012
The rain just keeps falling for the Tribe affiliates, as the Mudcats were forced to play another doubleheader tomorrow afternoon after the rain washed out their Saturday night game. That said, Bryson Myles continued to showcase a bat that should have him in High A Carolina soon, and Adam Abraham continued to force Tribe management to take a closer look. Jim Pete returns to ATF for a look at the night's minor league performances.

Corner of Carnegie and Ontario: The Cinco de Mayo edition
Johnny Damon and Jason Kipnis have righted the Tribe line-up, while Jeanmar Gomez and Chris Perez have done the same with the rotation and the bullpen. The schedule seems friendly, but Ubaldo may need to Go-Away-O. Find out the details as Jim Pete brings his inaugural weekly column to the table this fine Cinco de Mayo...

Around the Farm: May 2, 2012
Matt LaPorta continues to steal the thunder here at ATF, and while it drives this author absolutely insane, it can be nothing but good for the Indians down the road. Jesus Aguilar returned to the spotlight with another big night that should continue his progression. The top slot goes to an under-the-current starter that could very well turn into a top-of-the-rotation star. Jim Pete tears up IPI's Around the Farm: starring Matt LaPorta.

Fishing For Mudcats: "The road goes on forever..."
The Carolina Mudcats have started off the season with a Jeckyl and Hyde approach in nearly all aspects of their season, whether it be road vs. home, and starters vs. bullpen. As they headed out on their second road series, they left their bats in Zebulon. Jim Pete hops back in the outboard as he goes Fishing for Mudcats...

Around the Farm: May 1st, 2012
Weather and off-days have been wreaking havoc on the past two-days ATF's, but the beat still goes on. In 2010, tonight's top player was consider a candidate to take over the third or second base job in Cleveland, thanks to a big minor league season. After a setback thanks to an oblique injury, Jason Kipnis, Lonnie Chisenhall and Jack Hannahan stole his thunder, as he finds himself demoted to Akron. Who's tonight's top gun? Tune into IPI's original ATF to find out...after the jump...

Around the Farm: April 30, 2012
The Indians organization only had two complete games last night, thanks to some rain and fog. Don't worry, one Matt LaPorta didn't let the weather stop him from dominating ATF once again. With Damon making his Tribe debut tonight, can LaPorta be that far behind? Check out last night's abbreviated minor league performances with the latest edition of ATF.

Around the Farm: April 29, 2012
There's some kid named Francisco Lindor tearing it up in Low A Lake County. I've never heard of him, but rumor has it that he can play. T.J. McFarland is starting to regain that top prospect feel in Double A Akron. But the top spot in Today's ATF belongs to the biggest mover in the Indians' system, and a guy that may soon find himself knocking on Cleveland's front door, should he continue dominating out of the bullpen. Jim Pete brings you Sunday's Indians minor league performances in ATF.

Around the Farm: April 28, 2012
Will Roberts is starting to make a name for himself down in Lake County, but the guy that everyone seems to be talking about is Matt LaPorta. LaPorta tops ATF this morning after continuing his International League onslaught. Is it time to move LaPorta back to the bigs, or is this just another indicator of his Andy Marte-disease? Jim Pete returns to the ATF grind with another look at the minor league performances yesterday.

Around the Farm: April 25, 2012
If Chen won a game in the 11th inning and Urshela had a four-hit performance, who passed them to take the top spot in ATF? How about a guy that blasted two homers, with four RBI while hoisting his team on his shoulders? Check out IPI's Around the Farm for these, and other minor league performances from yesterday's games.

Fishing For Mudcats: "We'll split up the week, okay?..."
The Mudcats returned home from a weak road trip and began slugging the ball. While their starters began to resemble the great pitching of 2010 and 2011, the bullpen more resembled a horror movie than a bullpen mafia. What could have been a break-out week, turned into a wash. Jim Pete returns with Fishing For Mudcats, the Carolina Mudcats notebook...

Is Tommy Neal ready to make the Giants look stupid for dealing him in the Orlando Cabrera trade last season? Is Matt LaPorta ready to make the move to the big league level? Check out last night's Around the Farm to find out the answers to those top prospects, as well as several others in IPI's daily staple!

Around the Farm: April 23, 2012
Don't look now, but Nick Weglarz is starting to hit the ball a little, while Luigi Rodriguez continues to showcase some raw ability at the plate. Today's top spot in Around the Farm goes to a former sixth round pick that has some reminiscing about Kirby Puckett. Jim Pete brings today's ATF for yesterday's top performances.
