The Indians funk over the last two weeks has ruined their playoff hopes. They are still mathematically alive, but barring a miracle they are now in preparation mode for next season. Now that the season looks to be over, the immediate reaction is to look back at what went wrong and what prevented them from having the success that many wanted from them this season. The 2014 Fall Instructional League gets underway shortly out in Goodyear, Arizona. Over a span of a month around 50 players will participate in weight training and conditioning drills, on-field instruction, and play in several games until it wraps up on Sunday October 12th. The IBI's Tony Lastoria has the details on what players are going out there and the schedule for the four week period. There was only one game on the docket in the Indians farm system on Sunday as only one team is still left standing this season. Well, that team will be left standing a little longer as the Low-A Lake County Captains won Game 2 of their Eastern Division Finals series and clinched a berth into the best-of-five Midwest League Championship Series which starts in Kane County on Wednesday.
