IBI Inbox: Don't give up on the Tribe just yet
Thanks to a six game losing streak the Indians went from within striking distance of the AL Central lead and leading the AL wildcard race to a longshot in the division and four games out in the wildcard race. Around the Farm: August 10, 2013
Triple-A Columbus lefty T.J. House led the way in the Indians system on Saturday night with a stellar eight inning outing. He is on quite a role of late, and Tony checks in and talks about his outing as well as the good performances from Jesus Aguilar, Jose Ramirez, Bryson Myles, Clint Frazier and tons more.

The Cleveland Indians today announced that they gave recalled right-handed pitcher Carlos Carrasco and have optioned right-handed pitcher Preston Guilmet to Triple-A Columbus.

According to reports, the Indians have designated Mark Reynolds for assignment and have recalled right-handed pitcher Preston Guilmet from Triple-A Columbus. Tony provides the details and a quick look into the decision and why it was a long time coming for the Indians.

Indians sign Ryan Raburn to two year extension
The Cleveland Indians today announced they have signed outfielder Ryan Raburn to a two-year contract extension through the 2015 season with a club option for 2016. The Indians locked up one of their key offensive contributors beyond this season and Tony has the details.

We are rounding third and heading home on the 2013 minor league season. With barely a month to go, it is a good time to take some stock on how some players fared in July to see whose prospect value has increased or decreased at this point in the season. Kluber placed on DL, Langwell recalled
The Cleveland Indians today announced that they have placed right-handed pitcher Corey Kluber on the 15-day Disabled List with a right long finger sprain and have recalled right-handed pitcher Matt Langwell from Triple-A Columbus.

Around the Farm: August 4, 2013
Even though two of the Indians minor league affiliates were off there was still a lot of notable action among the four affiliates that played on Sunday. One very notable performance came from lefty Matt Whitehouse who is coming on strong at Mahoning Valley and who may be a sleeper from this year's draft. Tony steps in and recaps the night around the farm and discusses Whitehouse and several other players.

Salazar to start against Tigers on Wednesday
The Indians have made an interesting change to their starting rotation in advance of the big four game series with the AL Central Division leading Tigers which starts on Monday. They have announced that Ubaldo Jimenez has been pushed back to Friday and that Danny Salazar will be called up from Triple-A Columbus to start the game on Wednesday.

Pestano to be optioned to Columbus for Rzepczynski
The Indians made a surprising move on Tuesday night optioning out right-handed pitcher Vinnie Pestano to Triple-A Columbus to make room on the 25-man roster for newly acquired left-handed reliever Marc Rzepczynski. Tony gives a quick recap of the move and makes sense of it.
