History: Stowell was selected in the 22nd round of the 2008 Draft out of UC-Irvine, and was signed for $725,000. He originally went to school to play baseball at Pepperdine University, but transferred to UC-Irvine in 2007 for his final college season. His father played baseball for UC-Irvine in 1980 and 1981.
