History: Martinez was signed as a free agent in July of 2009 out of the Dominican Republic. Last season he finished 5th in the Arizona League in hitting (.347), 3rd in home runs (7), 4th in hits (66), 8th in doubles (14), 5th in RBI (39), 4th in slugging percentage (.563), 3rd in total bases (107), and 4th in OPS (.957 OPS).
