History: Sterling was signed by the Indians as a free agent out of the Dominican Republic in November of 2009. It was a tail of two seasons for him last year as in his first nine starts for Low-A Lake County he went 2-2 with a 2.85 ERA (47.1 IP, 32 H, 19 BB, 40 K, .190 BAA), and then in his final 15 appearances went 2-6 with a 10.25 ERA (45.2 IP, 72 H, 21 BB, 31 K, .355 BAA).
