2013 IBI Positional Rankings: The Right-handed relievers
Today we continue our 2013 prospect coverage here at the IPI with another positional rankings piece on the Cleveland Indians farm system. This time we will review the right-handed relievers.
The Indians are overloaded with right-handed relief prospects and it is arguably the one position they are deepest at in the entire system. They are very strong at shortstop and ultimately that position has a higher premium on it when it comes to prospects, but the collection of right-handed pen arms the Indians have assembled from Cleveland down to Double-A Akron is impressive, something that was unheard of four to five years ago when they could barely find one good bullpen prospect.
At the big league level they have right-handed pen arms such as Chris Perez, Vinnie Pestano, Joe Smith, Bryan Shaw, Frank Herrmann, Matt Albers, and Cody Allen – who is the only prospect of the bunch.
