2012 Rule 5 Draft preview
Editor’s note: I will be doing a live Rule 5 Draft blog on Thursday before and during the draft and will post quick bits of information I gather on picks the Indians may make or any players they may lose.
The 2012 Rule Draft commences on Thursday December 6th at 10:00 a.m. ET.
The Rule 5 Draft closes out the winter meetings every year, and while it is not a major story, it is a way that some teams look to add talent to their Major League roster.
At this moment the Indians are not going to draft a player in the Rule 5 Draft simply because their 40-man roster is full at 40 players. To be able to draft a player a spot needs to be cleared before the draft, and while the Indians could still make that needed space, they are not expected to.
