In the 38th round of the 2012 MLB Draft the Cleveland Indians have selected right-handed pitcher Joshua Nervis out of Sonoma State University (CA).
Date of birth: 10/25/1988 - Height: 6’3” - Weight: 230 - Bats: Right - Throws: Right
Bio: Sonoma player page
Quick take: Gotta love a pitcher whose name is Nervis (they pronounced it as “nervous” on the conference call). He is a fifth year senior and is a likely sign. He throws a fastball, slider, curveball and changeup, with the changeup .
Jeff Ellis: I can't imagine the amount of jokes Joshua Nervis has had about how his name sounds like nervous. He is one of the rare seniors the Indians have drafted this year, and this should mean that he is going to be a slam dunk signing. He has posted some higher ERAs as a pitcher, but has also posted solid strikeout totals. My gut feeling after looking at him and his numbers make me think he might be converted to the pen long term.
