2012 40-man review: Who is added?
The November 20th roster deadline is quickly approaching.
In the wake of the mega Marlins and Blue Jays deal that was consummated last night and all the other free agent and trade rumors percolating around the league, the 40-man roster deadline is but a blip on the radar for most casual baseball fans.
But of course, if you are reading this, you are not a not a casual fan. You are a diehard baseball fan that loves all facets of the game and are intrigued with roster construction and the decisions a team makes in protecting its young talent.
The offseason 40-man roster process does not get a lot of attention because the names being added are unknowns to most people and the names coming off are players who underwhelmed and the fans are ready to move on to other options. But the offseason roster process is very important to follow as it is one of the first steps teams take to finalize their roster for the upcoming season.
