Trevor Frank prefers to spend his free time surfing, but the waves of Lake Erie may not produce a swell large enough for shortboards. Frank doesn’t mind, however, because he’s spending his summer toeing the rubber rather than rails of a surfboard. The IBI's Stephanie Metzger recently sat down with the Low-A Lake County reliever and talks about his ascent up the pro ranks...

Another doubleheader, another split. After a great offensive series against Minnesota and an eight run outburst on Tuesday, the Indians offense slumped in both games on Wednesday. The team managed only 11 hits in the two games, but thanks to some stellar pitching found a way to take one game of the doubleheader. The IBI's Michael Goodman provides some "second thoughts" on the games...

Death, taxes (which Jim Piascik finished last night), and #WashTime making noise on the field. Anyone familiar with Cleveland's minor league system knows to expect great things when LeVon Washington is on the field and Wednesday was no exception. Joining Washington is a Lake County pitcher showing some surprising swing and miss in his game, a pair of organizational debuts with the RubberDucks, and more. Even Meat Loaf knows that two out of three ain't bad. The Indians and Padres split Wednesday's traditional doubleheader, as pitching was the game of the game in the twin bill. Despite a win and loss on the day, the Tribe was still able to take the three-game series improving to 8-4 all-time against San Diego since 2003. IBI Indians beat reporter Jim Berdysz recaps the action from the ballpark.

Few people get to travel the world. For center fielder Nyjer Morgan, he's had to endure just that in order to keep his big league career alive. Signed to a minor league contract this offseason with an invite to spring training, Morgan has quickly impressed Cleveland with his bat and unique veteran presence. IBI Tribe beat reporter Jim Berdysz caught up with the man they call "Tony Plush" and shares his thoughts on one of the Indians new faces in 2014.

To start off The WAR Room, Jim Piascik will be going back to 2013 and going over last year's performances. Ideally this is something that would happen in the offseason, but since I was not able to compute these stats until now, they have to run now. Join Jim as he goes over the 2013 Columbus Clippers, a team that lacked high-end prospects but had a few interesting standouts last year, including Lonnie Chisenhall.

The season is now in full swing and the Indians have been hot at the plate, but the pitching has been inconsistent, to say the least, to start the year. Around the league, Tommy John surgery patients continue to mount as top Pirates prospect Jameson Tallion has opted for the procedure and Rays lefty Matt Moore may be soon to follow. Tune in at 3pm ET for all the latest Indians and MLB discussion with Jake and Hayden!

Even though things got a little interesting in the ninth inning on Tuesday night, the Indians cruised to an 8-6 win over the Padres. The IBI's Charlie Adas breaks down the Indians win by looking at some key moments in the game and provides some interesting insight into how key moments earlier in the game solidified the win for the Indians.

A new season brings new faces and new contributions from the top and bottom of the lineup. Outfielders David Murphy and Nyjer Morgan are two of those new faces, as both are quickly making names for themselves in their new city. Behind a quality outing from starter Corey Kluber, the Indians found themselves back in the win column Tuesday night, defeating the Padres, 8-6. Join IBI Tribe beat reporter Jim Berdysz as he recaps the action from the ballpark.

Today we move on to the left-handed starting pitchers in our annual IBI positional rankings. Since drafting and developing C.C. Sabathia the Indians have not had a lot of success over the last 15 or so years in the left-handed pitching department - be it starting or relieving. While they still have a long way to go, things on that front may be changing as they have a few very promising left-handed arms in the lower levels and for the first time in a few years there are some legitimate upside left-handed starting pitching prospects throughout the organization. The IBI's Tony Lastoria ranks them all and includes scouting reports on them as well.

The Akron RubberDucks made it through their rain soaked first week at .500, splitting a four-game series with the Binghamton Mets. Strong performances from top prospects like Francisco Lindor, Cody Anderson, and Joe Wendle led the way during the RubberDucks' first week, but that was far from the whole story. Join Jim Piascik as he bids adieu to the old Akron "Launching off with the Aeros" notebook and introduces the new edition: Burning Tread with the RubberDucks.

Although Monday's game was washed away, we are now officially a week into the season, the Indians having played six games thus far. While the IBI's Kevin Dean is not taking much stock in any six-game stretch (especially the first one of the year), there are still observations worth making, and he shares them in today's Second Thoughts.

Today we move on to the right-handed starting pitchers in our annual IBI positional rankings. It is no secret that the Indians have really struggled to draft and develop good starting pitching over the past two decades or so, but things look to be on the up as they have a good mixture of interesting upper level right-handed starters worth keeping an eye on as well as several high upside young, raw arms in the lower levels of the system. The IBI's Tony Lastoria ranks the Top 15 right-handed starting pitching prospects with scouting reports for names like Anderson, Plutko, Milbrath, Sulser, Colon, Peoples and more.

Despite winning their first home opener since 2008, the Indians pitching woes turned out to be too much for the offense to overcome, even after they scored seven runs on Sunday. Justin Masterson struggled with command as he gave up six runs (five earned) in three and two-thirds innings. Join the IBI's Jake Dungan as he gives his thoughts on the Twins taking the series with a 10-7 win.

The Indians continue to get good performances from a few of their top prospects in the early going, and have also had some lesser prospects contribute as well. In today's trip Around the Farm, the IB's Tony Lastoria takes a look at some hot days at the plate from Jesus Aguilar and Joey Wendle as well as some nice performances on the mound by Cole Sulser and others.
