2013 Tony Awards: Defensive Player of the Year
We continue on with the year-end IBI Awards today with another Tony Award from the minor leagues, this time for the Defensive Player of the Year which is given to the Indians minor leaguer who had the best season defensively. The Indians had several fine defensive performances, some which may surprise, and Tony runs through the candidates and picks his winner.

Around the Farm: October 21, 2013
The Venezuela Winter League was off on Monday, but the Arizona Fall League and Dominican Winter League were at it again and several Indians players were in action. The IBI's Michael Hattery takes us around the farm and recaps how several players in the system like Tyler Naquin, Jeff Johnson, Erik Gonzalez and others did in their games on Monday.

Today we continue on with the year-end IBI Awards and move down to the minor leagues with the annual Tony Awards. We kick things off with the Rookie of the Year which is given to the Indians minor leaguer who had the best professional stateside debut this year. The Indians had several impressive debuts from players out of Latin America and the last two drafts, and Tony runs through all of the performances.

Mahoning Valley Insider: 2013 Season Review - The Hitters
We continue on with our year-end pieces for all six Indians minor league affiliates. Recently, the IBI's Tony Lastoria had a chance to sit down with Indians Assistant Director of Player Development Carter Hawkins to get the organization’s thoughts on the performance/development of some of the players at Mahoning Valley this season. Today, he includes those thoughts and comments on position players like Nellie Rodriguez, Claudio Bautista, Joel Mejia, James Roberts, Paul Hendrix, Martin Cervenka, Josh McAdams and others.

With the Arizona Fall League off on Sunday, the other winter leagues got prime attention. The Indians actually had several players in action in Venezuela and the Dominican Republic, led by a big bomb from Jesus Aguilar, another good relief outing from Bryan Price, and Ezequiel Carrera setting the table.

Changes on tap in the Indians bullpen
A lot of the early offseason discussion has revolved around what the Indians are going to do with their starting rotation or how they can improve their lineup. But one lesser talked about item of concern is the upcoming renovation in the bullpen with Joe Smith and Matt Albers hitting free agency and Chris Perez likely being non-tendered. The IBI's Michael Goodman takes a look at what approach the Indians should take to fill their bullpen needs for 2014.

The IBI Tribe Madness tournament pitting the 128 greatest Indians players of all time against one another in an NCAA basketball-like tournament continues with a look at the Dunn Field Region. The winner of this region draws the winner of the League Park Region, and features the likes of Dennis Ecklersely, Sonny Siebert, Rocky Colavito, Cliff Lee, Buddy Bell, Tris Speaker, Bob Feller and others.

The 2013 season proved quite successful for Cleveland as the team completed a 24-win turnaround and made the playoffs with a 92-70 record. As a part of recapping the year that was, IBI is once again giving out some year-end awards. Unlike last year, we will be focusing only on Cleveland-centric awards. Today we unveil IBI's Best New Addition.

Orbiting Cleveland: Can Aguilar help in 2014?
Help comes from all places in the Major Leagues. The Cleveland Indians got some unexpected help this past season as Yan Gomes and Danny Salazar came up from the minors and played an integral role in the team's playoff push. The Indians will likely need similar contributions in 2014, and probably one of the most likely candidates is first baseman Jesus Aguilar. Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek as he opines on the big slugger in the latest edition of Orbiting Cleveland.
