The Indians erupted for 12 runs on Friday night and beat the White Sox 12-5. The sloppy play on defense and the inconsistent starting pitching continued, but the bats came alive against John Danks with Michael Brantley and Carlos Santana leading the way. The IBI's John Grimm talks about Brantley's sudden home run surge and analyzes whether it is for real and also talks about Danny Salazar's outing.

It was a wild night out in Lake County. The Captains had a rough go of it in April, but perhaps their come-from-behind win in extra innings on Friday was the spark the team needs to get them going. The IBI's Arthur Kinney talks about two of the players that had a big hand in the winning rally and overall performance in the game and of course takes us Around the Farm to review the rest of the performances around the Indians system on Friday night.

Everyone knows April showers bring May flowers, but for Terry Francona and the Indians, they can only hope a gloomy first month of the regular season will make for a new, brighter month ahead. There was reason to believe just that Friday night at Progressive Field. After dropping six straight on their most recent road trip, the Tribe found themselves back in the win column in the series opener with the Chicago White Sox. Join IBI Indians beat reporter Jim Berdysz as he recaps a 12-5 win from the ballpark.

For the most part, it was an "it could be worse" type of start for the Indians. They had problems on the pitching staff, the offense and the defense, but still managed to keep their heads above water. However, whatever momentum they had when they headed west completely dissolved as the Tribe dropped six straight. The IBI's Jake Dungan looks back at April for the Tribe.

As first reported in a tweet on Thursday by the IBI's Tony Lastoria, the Indians are prepared to call up infielder Jose Ramirez from Triple-A Columbus. Ramirez did not play with Columbus on Thursday because he was en route to Cleveland. The Indians are expected to place Jason Kipnis on the disabled list though there are other possibilities as well.

Some nights you just have it. Thursday was certainly one of those nights for Josh Tomlin, as the right-hander was simply dealing. Tomlin had it all as he continues to make his case for a promotion to Cleveland. Clint Frazier also turned some heads, and though he is not making a case for a promotion to Cleveland, the center fielder had an important first Thursday. Join Jim Piascik as he writes about Tomlin, Frazier, and the rest of the action in the minor leagues as he takes you Around the Farm.

The Indians three hit performance against the Angels on Wednesday night was a fitting end to their West Coast trip. The team finished the game just 1-for-22 from the plate, putting an exclamation point on a six game stretch of horrors. The Indians finish the month of April 11-17, and with more questions than when the season started. The IBI's Michael Goodman recaps what went wrong during the trip and the month.

The Carolina Mudcats found an opponent they could not defeat this week: Mother Nature. Four of the team’s seven games were either postponed or cancelled due to rain. Otherwise, Carolina managed a .500 record for the week, earning one win against both Wilmington and Frederick, while also dropping a contest to both clubs. The Indians continue to play bad defense, execute poorly on offense and fail to keep the opposition off the board after they score the half inning prior. All of that leads to a five-game losing streak and poor 11-16 start so far this season. The IBI's Charlie Adams reviews last night's 6-4 loss to the Angels and analyzes key moments in the game where had the Indians gotten just one clutch hit or key pitch they actually may have won the game.
