Hot Stove starting to heat up for Indians
It’s been a very quiet offseason for the Indians so far which is not surprising considering the reality of their financial restrictions. The good news is their most notable free agent is 43-year old Jason Giambi, so they are returning a talented core of players and even if they don't make a move this offseason will have a good team next year. Over the past few days the Indians have come up in several different rumors and the IBI's Graydon Fox opines on some of the players the Indians have been linked to.

Around the Farm: December 3, 2014
Given teams in the Caribbean are playing to win games -- as opposed to the minor leagues, where player development is more important -- watching the usage of players and who teams trust is instructive. For example, seeing Giovanni Soto be trusted as a starter, after not pitching extensively in that role since 2012, is a real sign of faith in the left-hander. Join Jim Piascik as he breaks down Soto’s start on Wednesday and the rest of the action from across the globe as he takes you Around the Farm.

Crafting a three-team trade to bring Cespedes to Cleveland
There has been no shortage of speculation this offseason on the availability of Boston Red Sox outfielder Yoenis Cespedes, both in the national media and on this site. But as of right now, it does not appear Cleveland and Boston line up as trade partners. Last week, Fangraphs’ Dave Cameron proposed a three-team trade involving the Mariners to move Cespedes, but as Jim Piascik writes, a three-team trade involving Cleveland instead of Seattle could lead Cespedes to the corner of Carnegie and Ontario instead.

Potential replacements if the Indians trade a starting pitcher
As the 2014/2015 offseason continues one item the Indians could look to add is a veteran starting pitcher to stabilize the starting rotation. This of course would mean one of their current starters is used in a trade to fill a need elsewhere on the roster. The IBI's Kevin Sledz looks at some options the Indians could turn to in free agency or with a trade to fill a rotation need if one of their current starters departs in a trade.
