Second Thoughts Game #70: Royals 3, Indians 4
At times, it felt like the Indians were doing everything in their power to giftwrap a win for Kansas City on Tuesday night thanks to wild pitches, errors and a wild ninth inning. The Indians came away with a 4-3 win, a much needed win and one that was not easy for the hometown boys. The IBI's Jake Dungan shares his second thoughts on the game...

Indians comeback late to stun Royals 4-3
Things did not look good early at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario, but just as they have been accustomed to all season long at Progressive Field, the Tribe would fight back. The Indians rallied from a three-run deficit in the bottom of the ninth inning to secure a 4-3 win over the Kansas City Royals. 2013 MLB Draft: Post-draft Q&A with John Mirabelli Part 1
We are already almost two weeks removed from the draft and with that lots of new players are coming into the organization and a few are already making their professional debuts this week. Tony had a chance over the weekend to sit down at length with Indians Director of Scouting John Mirabelli and talk about the Indians draft. Mirabelli discussed the strength of the draft and trends we saw in it this year, the decision-making process, why he liked Clint Frazier so much, and lots more. Part 2 will post later in the week.

Kluber proving he belongs in the big leagues
That was the general consensus of many Indians fans shortly after Miguel Cabrera and the Tigers touched up Corey Kluber at Comerica Park on May 10th was that he was a short term option for the rotation and would soon go back to Columbus. Fast forward a month later and now Kluber has anchored himself in pretty well into the Indians rotation and looks to have solidified himself as a true major league starting option for the Indians.

Launching off with the Aeros: 6/11/13 – 6/17/13
The Akron Aeros found success despite being away from Canal Park all week, going 3-2 during their road trip to New Hampshire and Portland and moving back to .500 on the season. The offense put up some remarkable power and discipline as it carried the team, though the pitching for its part did not slouch. To read about all the action for the Aeros and the outfielder that just may be coming into his own, join Jim Piascik and go Launching off with the Aeros.

Second Thoughts Game #69: Royals 2, Indians 1
After a well-documented brutal 20-game stretch, the Indians had seemingly gotten themselves back on the right track, winning four out of their last five (and it could have just as easily been all five). They began a set against a surging Royals team Monday night, backed by a recently-freed Carlos Carrasco. He turned in one of the best starts of his young career, but the team was lacking in all other facets and another brutal loss was suffered.

Smoke Signals: Episode 6.11
Smoke Signals is back on the cyberwaves tonight from 10:00pm – 11:00pm EST. In tonight's episode, Tony and Jim talk about how the Indians have rebounded from a rough stretch to in late May and June to play much better over the past week, but still appear to be a step behind the competition. They will talk about Carlos Carrasco and Corey Kluber's brilliance over the last two games, wonder when Lonnie Chisenhall might be called up (or talk about his callup if it happens before the game), and look into the future with the Indians schedule and what moves they make around the deadline to shore up their team to help them be more consistent so they can compete for a playoff spot.

Around the Farm: June 17, 2013
There are days when this job is fun, and there are days when you just want to call it a night. Tonight, unfortunately, it was the latter, as the only two Indians' affiliates that were playing combined for eight total hits, and were both shut-out. There really was no joy in Mudville tonight, but there was one multi-hit performance, and an interesting start of note for a potential high upside lefty. Join Jim Pete for Monday Night's ATF.

Notes from the Wigwam: Tribe shows improvement
The Cleveland Indians are starting to get back on the right track and went 4-2 this past week while earning series victories over the Texas Rangers and the Washington Nationals. Perhaps no players was more impressive than right-hander Corey Kluber, who went 2-0 in two starts and allowed just one run in 16 innings of work. Join the IBI's Steve Orbanek he looks back at Kluber's performance and more in the weekly IBI staple, Notes From the Wigwam.

Second Thoughts Game #68: Indians 2, Nationals 0
Now that’s how you pitch! Indians starter Corey Kluber pitched the best game of his life on Sunday as the Tribe shutout Washington, 2-0 to take the three-game series. Pitching out of a bases loaded no out jam in the seventh inning and another two innings with runners on first and third and nobody out, Kluber earned every bit of that victory. The IBI's Jim Berdysz gives his second thoughts on the game...

Around the Farm: June 16, 2013
You really have to love the nights when all of the affiliates lose. Tonight was such a night, but one player really stood out as a potential break-out candidate if he can continue to play at the high level that he's been performing at over the past month. Join Jim Pete as he takes a look at Lonnie Chisenhall, Jordan Smith, Chris Perez and even Daisuke Matsuzaka in the Sunday edition of ATF.
