There have been some good young prospects to pass through Low-A Lake County over the years, but none with the upside and potential to impact a game with the bat like that of shortstop Dorssys Paulino. The Cleveland Indians faced off against the Tampa Bay Rays looking at the potential of not only being swept in their second series of the year, but had yet to score a run against the dominant Rays pitching. Enter Justin Masterson, who proved to be a stopper as the Indians avoided the sweep by returning the shut-out favor to the Rays in dominating fashion, winning 13-0.
The draft season is in full swing and the MLB Draft is just a matter of weeks away. As teams frantically scatter their scouts across the country to get second, third and fourth looks at several college and high school players, IBI draft guru Jeff Ellis steps in with his first 2013 Mock Draft. The Indians lost a rough one to the Rays on Saturday night by a score of 6-0. They were shut out for the second straight game, Trevor Bauer really struggled with his control, and Lou Marson took a shot at home plate that he is still probably recovering from this morning.
